An underrated place that provides a unique taste..
Ambience (4/5) They have a spacious parking lot, indoor and outdoor seating area although the outdoor area is small. They play Indian songs and there were live music but I personally prefer instrumental Indian songs as opposed to non-instrumental and live music.
Services (5/5)+ Top notch. They opened the door, greeted the customers, took the customers to their tables, were very responsive, catered very well and they asked for feedback before we left (Hence the + sign). In addition, they also served us free welcome snack too!
Taste (5/5) As a fan of spices, Dil Rani did the job very well. Before finalizing our orders, they asked whether the spices are to be cooked originally (strong flavor) or adjusted (milder flavor). I came here twice and on both ocassions I opted for a strong flavor and it was very good. Their biryani rice was so tender and flavorful. We ordered garlic cheese naan and it was BOMB. Pair the naan with butter gravy and it tasted like heaven. The savory-spicy spices in the gravy complemented the naan very well. Moreover, I personally adore their Masala and Punjabi Tea, which basically taste similar to Susu Jahe but using different spices. Tasted so unique and warm, definitely will come back even only for their tea!
Overall 4.6/5 Amazing...
Read moreThis review is for delivery food, not dining. So I ordered vegetarian thali, which comes with 3 curry, rice, naan, onion and yogurt. It seems cool, right ? The price mentioned over Grab was 95K IDR, which also looks fine... But when it got delivered I was surprised to see the quantity, you can call this meal as Mini Meal or Kids Meal. Serving was like this Daal Tadka - 2 Spoon Chana Masala - 15 pieces of Chick peas (chana) - was it a joke ? Panner - it was okay Rice - okay (you can say small bowl) Naan - It was not a Naan at all, just small 4 pieces of something which is equals to just 4 bites 🤣🤣
Oh My God, never ever seen a serving like this.
What was good ?
Packaging was good & even taste was not bad.
To the owners: Either you should mention in bracket that it's a Mini Meal or Kids Meal or it's totally cheating with the customers.
I was so disappointed that I had to find your restaurant on maps & had to give this review to warn other guests.
I read a review that was posted 5 months back but for dining and mentioned the same thing about thali, so it's totally clear that management is not interested at all to listen to their customers.
It was my first day in yogyakarta & I was so happy that my next 3 days will be sorted as I found Indian restaurant here but sadly a BIG...
Read moreTLDR: This isn’t Indian food. We waited 40 minutes for the food to come out.even then, it was so slow they sent the curries out without the naan or the biryani/rice. The dal makhni was burnt, symptomic of a larger issue wherein much of the food felt reheated in a microwave. There was unnecessary attempts to ‘plate’ the portions. Again a ruse to hide the small portions and mediocre taste.
Service was terrible as well, but not in the sense you may think. Staff were slow and confused, unsure of what they serving. The vegetarian list had a chicken item listed. You would assume it’s perhaps plant based/ mock meat. Wrong, it’s just a printing error. At the end of the meal, which perhaps took about 2 hours to truly end, the burnt dal makhni we sent back was offered to be recooked and served. Puzzling considered there was no more rice or naan to consume. I have no idea what the restaurant manager was thinking. Yes that was the manager serving us.
All in all, it was an unacceptable meal, with polite but dull staff, extremely slow service and mediocre food at a comparatively premium price. No photos were taken because the food was...
