Coffee & Thyme Gili Trawangan — Restaurant in Gili Trawangan

We came for breakfast at around 9:30AM. While handing us the menu, the waiter told us there was no avocado anymore already and the ‘Gili Toast’ was unavailable too, so only 3 out of 5 breakfast options were left. After making a choice we had been waiting for 10/15 minutes before we tried to actively get attention from a waiter. The first waiter told us he would tell a colleague to come, but still no one came. When we finally ordered breakfast, coffee and cake, it appeared my cake wasn’t available too and there were only two out of five cakes left, so we took the brownie and the orange raisin blondie. The ‘Lets do it’ pancakes were good and very tasteful, but the brownie was as dry as a two-day-old brownie and the blondie had nothing to do with a blondie at all, it was just cake. At the counter, the couple in front of us got a free cake because they weren’t told about the avocados, but the waiter didn’t seem to be bothered. When we mentioned our complaints, the man didn’t even seem to listen to us and got a cake for us out of the display too. I am not the person who asks for discounts or something for free in return. The best vegan pancakes I ever had. Chewy and slightly sweet because of the Banana. The dragon fruit layered in between the pancakes was also delicious. We went there again the next day and I had to order them again cause I loved them so much. The vegan tofu scramble really had an egg like texture and didn’t taste like regular tofu at all. I would definitely recommend. The restaurant has a lot of vegan options. The cakes and pastry is also vegan friendly. The chocolate brownie was so delicious. There was real slightly melted chocolate inside. It was chewy, fudgy and just melted on your mouth. The juices were also good and refreshing. When you order a smoothie bowl you can even choose two fruit toppings. If you order eggs you can add veggies on the side like smoked/ grilled tomato. The bread/ baguette that comes with some dishes was good but nothing special. The coffee mugs are so cute cause they have a coffee and thyme logo printed on it. Tried this coffee shop at Gili T for the first time. I ordered Gili Fried Chicken and The Revitalizer for my lunch. It took a while for my food to come out when another customer who came after me get their order arrived before I had mine. I’m not in a rush so I’m cool with it. To be honest the food was just okay, the flour coated chicken and the buttered fries could taste better if you change it to a-ready-to-fry french fries on the market. I like their sweet spicy sauce. The salad was okay. Those sunflowers seeds are a bit turned off for me. I’m not asking my fast food to be a little “healthy” by garnishing it with sunflower seeds. Please do remove the seeds. The revitalizer juice (cucumber, apple, ginger, lime, mint) was dominantly taste bitter ginger perfect for hangover cure. Their room with AC was small but there were another room upstairs.
