It is hard to come by peranakan or malay or singaporean food here in Indonesia and Ah Mei is very successful in solving that. I have dined here countless time and still coming back, and here is why.
The place is located in ground floor of puri indah mall, near the west lobby (forgive me if im wrong). It manages to be cozy while still able to pack a lot of customers. Indoor and outdoor seatings are available here though the indoor is way better because of the air con.
Most of the foods i have tried here are on point. Char kway teow, Mee rebus, Fried beehoon, Nasi Biryani, Hainanese chicken rice and many more. The taste is just right, not over or underwhelming. People who have visited and try the foods in singapore or malaysia certainly could say, this is close enough if not better.
Service wise, the staffs are all friendly and helpful though serving time can vary depending on how many customers are dining, can get long sometimes but this rarely happened.
Perfect to dine in with your family and loved ones, with reasonable prices.
Easy 11/10 for me. Highly...
Read moreThis place is visible from hagendaz lobby so if u were not a frequent of the mall like me, thats your guide to find the place. I was worrying bout how to find this place in that big mall complex but i was so lucky i got there by gojek n was dropped in front of the pedestrian entry in front of hagendaz n like magic, the place is right in front me! The cafe have smoking n non smoking area. The menu offers a lot of things from the classic kopitiam menu and prata plus rice, noodle, kweteoy n indonesian ice desserts. One thing for your note if u r on carbs diet or dont even eat carbs, u might fail to order any food here beside your drinks. My friend was in carbs diet n everything on the menu are carbs. Theres no ala carte vegetables or meat. The place was pretty cozy tho n constantly more-than-half full. So it can be noisy but u still can...
Read moreI’ve been into kopitiam lately. Ah Mei Cafe brings essential vibes of kopi tiam, spacey yet nostalgic china oldtown. It’s family friendly, best for hangout. Food is quite nice, best with freshly served such char kuey teow. If you like strong taste but light bites, i recommend the fried cassava or the prata. Trying the traditional Kaya toast, but both butter and kaya are just so so. Not as authentic kopitiam. Former statement is also applies for the ice coffee, if you are looking light coffee with medium sweetness, this might be a good choice. It is very crowded hence you’ll need to be active if you’ll need some service. But they are quite attentive as they able to take your...
