Chung Gi Wa - Puri Indah Mall — Restaurant in Jakarta

Hmmm.. Truthfully I wanna give higher star... But can't. Last time I was here, I remember the taste is really good. However when I was here earlier today, we order their chung gi wa special which is their beef.

It tasted well just okay really. Nothing special. The meat is not chewy but not tender. Their pork with soy sauce was much much much better. Very tender, smoky, sweet, and waaayy cheaper than their beef. Their banchan are also just okay. Nothing special. Their sundubu jigae also well just okay. I don't know if my taste bud is already upgraded but for me personally brand B which is scattered everywhere now, brand J in Alam Sutera and brand M which also has many branches now have waaayyy better taste on their beef and their banchan.

Oh 1 more thing. I'm a bit shocked as when I ask for grilled garlic. They give me like 5 to 6 couple pieces. And when I asked for more, they said no refill... I mean what? I can't ask for more grilled garlic? I can pay if you want me too. Because eating the meat with grilled garlic really help elevate the taste..

Granted all other korean resto that I mention are all a bit more expensive than here, but it is worth it to pay just a lil bit more to get way better taste. Hopefully they can change for the better.

Our total bill is 552rb for 2 person. For 1 CGW beef, 1 pork with sweet soy sauce, 1 sundubu jigae, 1 jug of cold ocha. Usually we pay about 650 to 700K+ for those 3 menus in other upscale Korean resto. Oh and for the love of God at least give option for ice coffee as a dessert. I don't like drinking hot coffee, but here they only serve...

Food and price are all reasonable and ok for Korean bbq. They have selection of pork and meat too. Sadly the waiters / waitress are so rude and seems unhappy when guest came, or just simply unhappy with the job. I came in a big group of 15ish people, waitress came to take our order without a note. I started to mentioning our order (which are more than a few since there are 15 of us), half way I asked her politely if she might want to take notes of our orders just in case because she just try to memorize them all, she refused and repeat all orders at that time instead (which was rice, ramen, some types of meat). then the orders keep adding up and she ended up stopping us, went to the back and get paper and pen with grumpy face. Too bad such a nice food ruined by bad...

Definitely wont be coming back.

We order a lot for a kid birthday party and even order for the nanny’s too.

The korean manager service is bad, told us that we are too loud to sing a happy birthday for Kid birthday. I mean how long can a happy birthday song last for. Geez.

Beside the food wasn’t great, the quality of chung gi wa no longer here. the bancan they only serve 4 kind with small portion and most korean restaurant serve kore than 4 bancan. To be honest we had taste better korean food in jakarta...
