We went here on a weekday evening. The place wasn’t crowded, and we got seated right away, which was a nice start. However, there were a few things I feel others should be aware of: they served us complimentary nuts, but apparently, you’ll be charged if you eat them. Thankfully, we asked and had them removed. Also, we were charged for two cups of Chinese tea even though we were never informed it was price per cup — not a huge deal, but a heads-up would’ve been appreciated (or just out it on the menu). I guess it’s true what they say: "ask first or you'll get caught off guard."

That said, once the food started coming, everything else faded away. We ordered five dishes, and honestly, every single one was excellent:

Fried Noodles: Just like I remembered. Savory, packed with flavor, and with that beautiful wok hei aroma. The noodles had a slight al dente bite, and the vegetables were fresh and crisp.

Fried Salt Chicken: Golden, crispy skin, juicy meat, and not greasy at all. A simple dish that really hits the spot.

Cereal Prawns: This one stole the show. Sweet, crunchy, fragrant — the prawns were big, juicy, and perfectly cooked even though they were fried. The cereal gave a fun, addictive texture. Truly the star of the night.

Vegan Mun Tofu: A comforting dish. Silky tofu with a rich, savory sauce and tender mushrooms. Light yet flavorful — great balance.

Yangzhou Fried Rice: Honestly one of the best fried rice dishes I’ve had in a while. The rice was cooked to perfection — every grain separated and well-seasoned. The veggies were crunchy and fresh. While the egg floss was missing (which is the hardest part to nail), the dish still blew me away. Major respect to the chef, because the taste were the same as i remembered and even improved more, especially the Cereal Prawn.

It’s been almost 5 years since my last visit to Angke, and I’m glad to say it was worth the return. Despite the small hiccups, the food more than made up for it, the services team were very fast to respond and explain every single menu we asked with detail to the brim. It was a great dinner experience and a wonderful revisit to one of Jakarta’s long-standing Chinese restaurants. Until next time that's all,...

This legendary Hakka restaurant has always been our family’s favorite. Popular menus such as Lindung Cah Fumak (Fried Eel Sautéed with Vegetables), Ikan Gurame Tahu Tausi (Gourami with Bean Paste), Cingkong Kepiting (Deep fried crab claw with shrimp ball), Udang Rebus Minyak Jahe a.k.a. Yam Ha (Boiled prawn with ginger sauce), Bakmi Goreng (Fried Noodles) and Scallop Cah Brokoli XO (Sautéed scallop with broccoli & XO sauce) are worth trying & definitely will keep you coming back. The portion is generous but it’s relatively pricey compared to similar restaurants in town. The tea & rice are served ala all-you-can-eat so you’re free to refill them as much as you want.

Finding parking spot would be tedious during weekends, also you might find difficulties in getting seated especially when there’s wedding party being held there and they don’t accept any reservations during weekends. The good deal here is they got promotion from several banks which will give...

Our family had a nice dinner at this old yet very popular restaurant in Jakarta old city area. We ordered 5 dishes to have with steam rice, i.e.: fried noodle, steam prawn with garlic sauce, stir-fried eel with humak green vegetables, stir-fried tripe and bean-sprouts, and fish + pork meatballs soup. All dishes were authentic and yummy Hakka-style Chinese dishes. We especially love the eel, fried noodle and meatballs soup.

Though this restaurant is the original place, but it still has presentable and bright dining space. Customer services from floor staff members were reasonable, though they could not pace the dishes delivery very well. There were quite lengthy gaps between some dishes' delivery to our table. I wish this issue can be improved. Prices on the menu are quite premium / high, but it reflects the dishes and ingredients' quality. You will also pay additional 15.5% charges for service charge and local tax on top of your...
