A must-visit for pasta lover, this Japanese-Italian fusion serves impeccable quality of pasta with premium ingredients. Located in the 2nd floor of Plaza Indonesia, AW Kitchen has a cozy dining ambience with dim lighting, perfect for most social occasions, both formal & casual. Upon each main course they will serve complimentary bread as an appetizer.
There are wide range of pasta available here, from tomato-based, cheese & cream, as well as garlic, oil & cayenne pasta, and risotto. Few of my most favorites pasta: Trofie Arrabiata: pasta with bacon/beef bacon, eggplant & cherry tomato in spicy Arrabiata sauce, the light spiciness really perks up this wonderful plate of savory pasta. Spaghettini Shrimp & Corn Pepperoncino Style: pasta with sweet corn & shrimp cooked in garlic oil; simply appetizing! Sprinkle the black pepper to add extra flavor. Spaghettini Pescatore: pasta served in tomato sauce with assorted seafood such as tiger shrimp, clams, baby octopus, fish & squid; a seafood-lover’s must-have! Linguine Mushrooms Carbonara: the mushroom is such a perfect match to the delightful creamy carbonara sauce, the sauce not too thick & has wonderful savory taste with a dash of truffle oil.
Besides the pasta, I also love the pizza here! Thin crust pizza with various fresh toppings; crusty outside, gooey inside. My personal favorite is Pizza Roast Beef with Egg (pizza with sliced roast beef, champignon mushroom & Grana Padano cheese topped with sunny side up egg) - I love the flavors burst as the pizza melts...

We were served a warm complimentary half loaf of sourdough bread with butter on the side.
We ordered:
Strawberry & orange juice - it's nice, but i could tell that the orange juice was not freshly squeezed one.
Arancini tomato mozzarella - 4 small deep fried arancini balls filled with melted cheese. It's yummy, slightly crispy on the outside and the cheese was gooey and melting on the inside.
Gnocchi pomodoro mozarella - one of the best handmade gnocchi i have ever tasted in Jakarta. The consistency & chewiness were perfect.
Beef agnolotti with butter cheese sauce - although shaped a bit like dumpling, it tasted just like ravioli. Served with generous amount of butter sauce.
Risotto pescatore - there was a lot of Risotto dishes on the menu. And my hubby was ecstatic. It's pretty hard to find Risotto dish these days. He ordered the pescatore, and enjoyed it to the last rice grain.
Trofie arrabbiata - this was one of the popular dish in the restaurant. The trofie was handmade. Perfect texture pasta with addictive slightly spicy sauce.
Highly recommended if you're looking for handmade pasta. Not all of the pasta were handmade, so make sure you ask the waitress...

The food we ordered are: Trofie Arabbiata. This is the highlight of our dishes, the pasta is homemade and take form of ‘cendol’ :) topped with bacon, eggplant and cherry tomato in spicy arrabiata sauce. The pasta is cooked to our liking, and the sauce is great.
Lasagna. Layers of flat-shaped pasta, potato with bolognese sauce and melted cheese. Being the fan of lasagna, i don’t like added potato ingredient in this lasagna, makes each layer you put to your mouth feels heavy. But the seasoning is still on point.
Banana tiramisu. I don’t taste the banana at all in the tiramisu, the only banana taste you get is from caramelized banana on top of the tiramisu. Luckily the tiramisu cream is light, so you can finished it without feeling too guilty considering the portion is quite big.
Forget what we ordered for drinks. Looking at the photo, i think it’s mojito :)
PS: While waiting for the food, they will served you complimentary bread with butter.
Will come back here to try...
