A Must Visit Japanese BBQ in Jakarta, Consistently Outstanding!
Every time I’m in Jakarta, one of the first things I look forward to is dining at this exceptional Japanese BBQ restaurant. I’ve been here more than three times now, and it has never failed to impress me. From the moment you step in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere sets the tone for what always turns out to be a memorable dining experience.
The highlight, of course is the food and particularly the wagyu. The quality of the meat is outstanding: beautifully marbled, tender, and packed with flavor. Whether you’re enjoying it simply seasoned with salt or dipped into one of their house sauces, the wagyu here truly stands out as some of the best I’ve had.
In addition to the beef, they also offer a great selection of fresh seafood, which is a wonderful alternative or complement to the meat. Everything is prepared with care, and you can really taste the freshness in each bite. Especially the prawn and scallops.
One of the things I love most is the table-side cooking service. The staff is highly trained and attentive, always grilling each cut of meat to perfection right in front of you. This not only enhances the flavor but also elevates the entire dining experience into something interactive and special. Their attention to detail and commitment to great service are truly commendable.
No matter how many times I come here, the quality and consistency remain top notch. If you’re in Jakarta and enjoy Japanese BBQ, this place is an absolute must-visit. I’ll definitely keep coming back every time...

The place is pretty private. It consists of some booths which can be closed with curtains. The food is Japanese and also Korean. So, besides yakiniku, there are also kimchi, chapchae, and other Korean food. If you don't know what to order, you can just order from the set menu. There are two types with the price around 300++ and 400++. I tried the Irodori set which consists of kimchi, salad, chapchae, 3 types of meat, rice and miso soup. The meat is cooked and served by the waiter, so we just have to eat. I was amazed with the stove. The exhaust fan is on the side of the stove, not through the chimney at the top like most common barbecue joints.
Kimchi was fresh and crunchy. Salad came with a really light dressing but still tasted good. The meat was delicious, fresh and melted in my mouth. But I liked miso soup the most. It was very simple, with light broth, but very good and refreshing. I still can remember the taste until now. We got free desserts too, caramel pudding and ice cream.
Everything was delicious and worth the money. The service...
Read moreHad a lunch at Esina on 22 July 2022. When I wanted to make payment using my debit card, the staff swiped it using the first EDC machine in which there was no signal and hence another EDC machine was used. However the transaction on the first EDC was done and my balance was also deducted from my bank account. I have contacted Esina through Whatsapp to give the proof of double deduction from my bank statement. The staff was very slow and lied to me several times and giving me the hard times, asking me to call my bank hotline to ask if the money has been received. I had called my bank and they confirmed that there was no money refunded to my debit card. Everyday I have to ask Esina via Whatsapp and they only replied with useless solution. It has been almost 2 weeks and my money still has not been refunded to me. Such an embarrassing action from a high class restaurant like Esina, not to be able to come up with a good solution to a very simple problem. Really disappointed and I hope the owner of this place...
