We had dinner here recently after watching movie at close-by cinema. We ordered three main dishes, i.e. beef green curry, green mango salad with fried catfish and stir-fried seafood with nam-prik sauce. We also ordered miang-karm / betel leaves appetizer and cold bua-loy as dessert item. All dishes were authentic and taste nice, except the stir-fried seafood that we thought a bit lacking of the "smokey" fragrant of Thai stir-fry items. The highlights were the miang-karm appetizer and the green mango salad since they're really taste authentic Thai dishes. The dessert item was also quite good.
The decor / ambience are nice and elegant. The service from floor staff are good and say thank you / welcome in Thai language. It feels like you're in a real Bangkok restaurant with all the authenticity. Too bad that they decide to have "halal menu option" where there's no pork item since there are many authentic Thai dishes with pork as main ingredient are replaced with beef / chicken or totally not available. This reduces the authenticity level.
The prices in the menu are quite high but expected in the mall like Plaza Senayan. The high 7.5% service charge on top of the regular 10% PB1 tax really add-up and make the meals cost even pricier. I guess it is hard to find nice and authentic Thai place in Jakarta, unless you're willing to spend big like in this place. You can pay by usual credit cards and Debit BCA...
Read moreSimply amazing thai food. Taste is so rich and portion is generous.
Our order was:
Pla Tod Nam Pla: Garoupa fried fish with shredded mango. It was tender, soft and scrumptious. The mango slices and red onion made the taste even better.
Plamek Yang: Grilled squid with lime and garlic. This one is juicy and very mouthwatering. Best grilled squid I ever had!
Gang Gwio Warn: Chicken in green curry with coconut cream, eggplant and basil leaves. The thickness level was just right 👌 chicken is juicy and the basil made it even better.
Well done to the chef for taking our tastebuds to an intense Thai food journey.
Price is a bit upscale but it’s worth the money. Definitely a must if you...
Read moreWe came to this Chandara for dinner and ordered thai ice tea (35k), mango salad (65k, not in the picture), fried rice with shrimp paste (65k), steamed prawns (165k), and steamed garoupa fish (315k). My favorite was the fried rice and was worth the price. The prawns and the fish were too expensive for such an average taste. Overall, I gave it a three-star only. Sorry.
Coming back for a family dinner, we ordered foods seen in pictures, plus drinks. In general, the foods had a strong flavor. I liked pad thai the most. The services were quick. The ambiance was comforting. But, with 250k per person, it was...
