Read moreThe service was very very very loooooooong. My colleague ordered a risotto, and it was only served after we finished our food. Note that there were 8 of us. The waitress came to our table, saying “the food will be finished in 5 minutes”. After 15 minutes the manager came to our table “it’s still plating process”. Another 15 minutes of watching the waitress and manager went to the kitchen to crowd the chef. And finally it was served. 5 minutes in de Luca = 30 minutes.
Same thing happened to my dessert. I ordered Chocolate Fondant, and it was served until all the dessert was finished by my colleagues.
The audacity continued. When the bill arrived, they acted like nothing was wrong. They did not give us a complementary food, nor discount. They only apologized for being long. I also pointed out that since the service was unbelievably long, at least give us a discount for those 2 items only. It was a reasonable request. They did not.
Please note that the restaurant was not at a full capacity, only around 25-30% tables were occupied. Could you imagine when the restaurant is fully packed? Better have some food in you first if you don’t want to flip the table and storm the kitchen.
For a restaurant with this price point, it’s very disgusting. You expect this kind of treatment at restaurants with McDonald’s price point. Pizza Hut can deliver better. Even Sushi Tei gave me a free dessert for their mistakes.
If you want to come here, please think again. If you have enough time to spare and don’t mind waiting, go ahead. But if you were in a rush, stay clear of this restaurant. They only apologize for taking your time without giving a compensation.
For de Luca’s owners and managers, please train your waiting and kitchen staffs...
Read moreIt has been a few years since I ate here. The interior design hasn't changed a bit since my last visit. Usually, I came for dinner on weekdays but yesterday I came for weekend lunch. It's more crowded for dinner service, so you might want to make a reservation first. It's located in the Plaza Senayan complex inside an extra building outside the mall at the parking area, together with a coffee shop which I forgot the name of. The place is not that big, with a smoking area inside the restaurant and non-smoking outside. But honestly, it does smell even you sit outside. So maybe you can consider this if you are sensitive to cigarette smell. The ambiance feels like a semi-bar/pub with dimmed lighting. Suitable for hangout with friends or family but not for small children. Also not suitable for work or formal meetings since it can be quite noisy with the music and people talking. Service was fast and good, the portion was great and the food has a strong taste. I love their pizzas and drinks. The calamari tastes unique with a little bit of local Indonesian flavor to it. They used a lot of garlic so it might be not...
