Bogor Cafe — Restaurant in Jakarta

Last weekend, I went to this place for breakfasting, expecting a good place to enjoy The Oxtail Soup (usually dining in its branch in Pacific Place) and ordering the grilled oxtail soup and the regular one for the wife and some drinks. I wanted to order the ta'jil or something sweet like kolak, but not available for purchase unless for the buffet dining. The waiter is not too friendly nor informative on the options, so we skip the ta'jil and directly eat the main course after Maghrib adzan. We ate quickly, the soup is as usual - good, and went to the cashier to pay, and the cashier lady told us there is this promotion with BCA credit card buy one get one, and so on. I wish that we get the info earlier :( Just a poor experience in such reputable restaurant, in Ramadhan no ta'jil available and no courtesy of anything. Honestly literally one of the best Oxtail soup in Indonesia. Why the 2 stars though? Because quite literally as well, the inconsistency on serving is unbelievable. On one day they give you Oxtail Soup dish with “decent” amount of Oxtail, but on another day you eat there the Oxtail shrank by half 😅. To be honest it’s not a cheap food as well, but heading here it’s starting to feel like it’s just not worth it.

To Borobudur Hotel Management, I hope you’re reading this, please please please fix this issue. Unbelievable, I am beyond comment at the restaurant today, the amount of food served is WAY LESS than Sop Buntut Ibu Samino 🤷🏻‍♂️, but Ibu Samino price way less too. Am I judging the food unfairly by the “class” probably? But by the tenderness Ibu Samino can probably compare to Bogor Cafe’s Oxtail, the price though, Samino completely obliterated Bogor Cafe’s dish price.

To summarize, just one word:...

Disappointed. Waisting my time when lunch this Saturday. This restaurant located in 5 star hotel, however in this pandemic, no good warp for tableware, waiting the food more than one hour (while other guest beside my table which came after us had the food first). When came the sup is a little cold. I ordered for the take away and instructed to separate the billing, but when we want to leave, the take away is not ready, and the big mistake is the resto has charged not into seperate billing as I requested before.
