I am writing this as i fight off cockroaches trying to jump on my plate. The table smells a bit like cockroach when i sat down to order. Gave the place the benefit of the doubt as the place is filled with antiques and old stuff. I uploaded pictures taken on the same visit with the cockroach crawling on my food and table-my first and last visit... yuck. Food is kinda mediocre, a bit salty. Hygiene is highly questionable. Ambience is supposed to reflect the peranakan/dutch influences. It can be a bit stuffy with the ornaments all over the place. Some dinner settings look like a chinese funeral altar, so i don't know if this is really my own personal impression or a legit representation of the culture. I think i know enough to tell... just saying. Service is decent. No complaints. Located just off Jakarta’s central Merdeka Square on Jl. Veteran 1. Beautifully decorated by Antique and Unique Chinese - Javanese decore from their table settings, statues, rooms, to overall decor. This is a place for you to eat Peranakan Menu with Traditional Indonesian Concept. Truly amazed by their restaurant. Was welcomed with warmest smile and greetings from the waiters, felt just like at home.
