Last night, we had dine-in here after my husband told me that Gandy was open at Bumi, which means it's very close to home. We usually eat at Hayam Wuruk. The ambiance at this branch is more modern than others, there is no live music yet, because the 2nd floor is still not ready for use.
Arrived at 6.30 pm, ordered Steak ala Gandy for my husband and Gandy package for myself . Waiter who took our order , his name Pak Andi , unfortunately , when i ask for sauce he didn't seem to pay much attention and was busy with other things ,at the cashier's desk, Even though he had seen me before on the other side, but ignored me. (Yes, I reconfirmed because, forgot to request earlier).
Anyways their complimentary dinner rolls ((with butter without "packaging")) served at 7.09 pm, then mushroom soup and drinks served arround 7.19 pm without our steak. It's take a very long period of time for main dish to be served, i assumed they forgot our steak order, until one waiter came to us for checking table, i asked to the waiter (woman, i didn't notice her name) "lupa ya mba kok steaknya ga keluar2 udah mau sejam?" instead of saying sorry she answered "makannya ini saya tanyakan" ?? what?? how rude she is. She didn’t really feel sorry or feel responsible about what happened to the missed order.
At last all the food is served ,,, 60 minutes plus, how came . I ordered steak with Blackpepper & Mushroom sauce but we got Gandy sauce & Blackpepper sauce :((, "acar bawang merah" serving size was ridiculously small than other branch
When we made the payment, Pak Andi finally apologized, although we knew it was just a small talk, and it turned out that he actually realized that our order had been missed, hmm so why didn't he notice before?? Then I asked him if the second floor could be used yet? He instead explained that there would be a VIP room with a minimum order of millions, about discounts, lower prices, this and that like we need it, and blah blah, we don't need that, we just need a yes or no answer, what does it got to do with us? i just didnt care at all.
Resto should already prepared to serve during weekend and anticipating it. This is not what we expect from Gandy Bumi, just want to criticize for service, if the value is 0 it is not good, even in my opinion it is very disrespectful to buyers, belittling, the tone of speech of the waiters & those who have it is very inappropriate. Sorry but maybe we wont come back to this branch, such a bad experience. Will be my first and last visit here, better to dine in at other branches. Good service can save a bad meal, but theres's no level of food that can save bad service

Service very bad, rude and impolite, the waiter and waitress are suggested to improve their quality of service performance by being more customer-oriented. Limited Parking spaces
Verdict : Pretty bad experience - thx Gandy Bumi branch, will never be forgotten by us
I think for the south areas, there's Pondok Indah Apartment branch was way better...
Read moreLet me preface this by saying that I’ve been a long time fan of Gandy Steak at their other locations (Menteng, Pondok Indah, Kelapa Gading-now closed) and I really wanted to like this branch since it’s only minutes away from my home.
I had read other reviews that complained about the service, I’m afraid that they are right. The service needs to be worked on. The fundamentals of customer service is to make customers feel comfortable, their needs and wants taken care of, and that they are welcomed at the establishment. As soon as I walked into the restaurant, no one greeted me, no one wanted to seat me, no one wanted to ask or serve me : right away, I feel unwelcomed. After spending some time just standing there, one person reluctantly asked how many persons were going to dine. I was finally seated.
I ordered the Gandy Set, since I was looking forward to the Steak ala Gandy and the dinner roll.
While I was waiting I noticed several other guests going to the bakery section, and they were struggling to get someone to assist them. Having a bakery in the restaurant, you’d think that they’ll dedicate a server to that section. This happened to maybe 4-5 different tables while I was waiting for my food.
My order came out pretty quickly. First the dinner roll, as good as I remembered it and always the best thing about Gandy. Then the soup, it was ok but was especially strong-flavored…I suspect they used a lot of chicken bouillon in it. The steak…where to begin. I ordered medium, it came out dry around the edges and bloody towards the center. I decided it was better to not finish it. The butter sauce was not as I remembered, it was just oily. I asked for the mushroom sauce and thankfully the server gave me one for free and it was much better than the butter sauce.
After my meal, I think the manager came over and asked how everything was. I appreciate the effort to get customers’ feedback however it would’ve been better to start with basic understanding of maintaining the reputation of this...
Read moreMy first time in any Gandy, bad and inattentive service in this restaurant. I arrived with nobody manning the reception, it was almost full, so I had to go inside by myself to find out if there's any table available (I felt very intrusive, and nobody approached me, I had to ask!). The lady who took our orders was also grumpy, explaining things with very soft sound, like she didn't want to serve us. Her prononciation of the food (the menu is in English) was also very bad, so we couldn't really understand what she's saying to us. She also told us 10 mins after the order was taken, the onion rings that we ordered was not available anymore. She didn't show any regret, just asking "what do you want this to be replaced with?" There was no words of sorry, no thank you from her. Servants were often grouping near the cashier like they have a system issue or something.
Food is SO-SO, nothing special about it. Look how they cool my medium-well tenderloin.. so dry and overcooked. Their ginger lemon tea is also too spicy.
I heard about this place as a legendary steakhouse, but unfortunately their service is also old school and very conservative. I think they have just been benefitting from people's walking down the memory lane by visiting the place. Will never come back,...
