Great food, but we had a VERY UNPLEASANT experience. Will never come back.

28 Jan 2025, around 11am. Table D11. Came here for tarot reading meeting with my client. We sat at the outdoor seating, right beside the counter. We ordered Jamaican jerk chicken, parmesan wings, long black and a juice.

After around one hour we tarot and dine, we ordered cappuccino, tiramisu and cheesecake pastry since we enjoy the place and my client still wants to continue. When the second order came out the waiter told us that they got a an info from the “manager” that any “playing card” is prohibited in the area. Which is ridiculous since tarot IS NOT a playing card. And they told us after we made a second order???? Ridiculous

We confronted the waiter why didn’t she tell us sooner and yet she only told us how its her fault forgetting to tell us about it which is a ton of bull crap since there were a lot of other waiter roaming around our table.

We asked to meet the manager to talk to us directly about this issue yet the waiter keeps blaming herself how it’s her fault. And then she said something around the line of “when the regulation is fixed, we will print it out and make sure the customer knows” which implies that this is NOT AN ACTUAL REGULATION.

At the end she said that it actually came from the building management instead of monolog. Who knows which one is real since she keeps changing the information.

We actually don’t mind if it’s actually prohibited IF ONLY the management, manager or whoever made this absurd regulation actually comes to our table and have a talk with us. ESPECIALLY after we make another order. But none of that happened and we spend 15 min seeing your waiter blaming herself.

Don’t get us wrong, the food is actually good. But beware of absurd and made up regulations to kick you out, people! Such a shame good place like this doesn’t have a proper...

Loving this branch of Monolog at Jalan Bumi. The place is located on the first floor of the building, and has both a large indoor & outdoor seating area. Although it’s quite easy to get a table for walk-ins, but if planning to come with a bigger group, especially on the weekends, better to book a table since a day prior. As for Sunday brunch when I came, it wasn’t too crowded but has a steady flow of incoming guests. For the food, tried out the Spicy Chicken Nanban Sandwich. The chicken was cooked katsu style, and served with nanban tartar, katsu sauce, romaine lettuce, & pickle. It would normally be stacked together, but since I don’t prefer saucy dish, they helped to serve it separately which was great. The chicken was juicy, and the combination of nanban & katsu sauce gave that nice kick to the dish. And the pickle gave a nice freshness to the dish. Also got the Smoked Salmon Potato Rosti. The rosti was nicely done, it was well seasoned and got that crunchy texture. And when combined with the smoked salmon, egg, sour cream, & tomato, it was just a perfect complete meal. All the ingredients complimented each other well. As for snack, got the sweet potato fries which is freshly cut & fried and goes well with the coconut curry dip. For the drinks, loving the Iced Masala Chai and sparkling Homemade Lemonade. Both go well with all the dishes that I got and good thirst quenchers.
