It was amazingly good the gudeg. We bought another complete packet (no rice) for a take out.

You know a good food is when you do not need any additional chillies nor condiments nor spices to the dish.

My husband and I just kept on eating the gudeg with rice until finish, then we realized we did not add on any spices on it *bravo

The cow skins were chillied enough *imho

The egg was marinated perfectly. The gudeg was smoothly tender and tasty.

Mind you, all area is a non air conditioned one, but there is no smoker, I do not know their policy on this for sure. But all the smokers were outside the building, in the entry way.

The place is too hot, no air con. Food tho is really good. I rarely got a taste of nice gudeg, ayam kalasan, rawon, sambel krecek that really good in Jakarta. Every place in Jakarta that sell similar kind of food wont hold a candle against this place.

If you are a foreigner, dont have time to go to jogja or solo or surabaya, you definitely have to try this place. Price is on the higher side but the taste is really good. For Indonesian, duhhh this place is soo good. Their portion is also generous. Their rawon served on big bowl and with big chunks of tender beef.
