Cheap, crowded, delicious Jakarta's street food. The culturalism brings people from around the country to create a fascinating recipe. Rice, Gulai, and cow tounge (Baked) mixed together and became Gultik, which will make your famished stomach full; in a couple of porsions lol. Needs more salt though, as the taste's a bit dull.
A whole block serving the exact same thing, with the exact same taste, though different people, different services experience. Some has tables, other doesn't, some has chairs, others require you to sit on the sidewalks. But what's important is the togetherness. And taste, boy taste is very important in this case.
The porsion served is really cheap, (Rp10.000,00) and with fewer prices, you get fewer meal servings. That's right, the porsion given to you is like a grown man's fist in half, at most. The tounge is sometimes overcooked or undercooked. And, if unfortunately, you don't have a seat, your back will kill you by sitting on sidewalks, or worse; standing. But an escape of reality and togetherness is what people after by going here.
So many negative points, yet I gave them 4 stars. That's because I really had a lot of fun here. With my friends, families, colleagues. I came here a lot. Mostly to have fun and relaxing dinner, rarely because I had few money left on my pocket, so I had to go to somewhere cheap lmao. Crowded, but tasty and cheap food nonetheless.
My personal rating : Taste : 8.5 / 10 Comfort : 3-5 / 10 Location : 8 / 10 Services : NA Parking : *Cars : 2 /...
Read moreFirst time I went there when I was still in Junior High School, mostly during weekend, where not too many places to hang out with friends that time. Gultik (Gulai Tikungan), been there for ages. It is also known as Gulai Tikus (Rat Curry) which is obviously not correct (it's just terminology for people back in the days, since the vendors sell the food on top of water sewages), but up until today, the area is still famous for people to hang out, or as their meeting point. Back then, it wasn't too much crowded. Now, the area is more clean, neat, and bright with benches along the sidewalk, more pleasant to the eyes. The price is a bit pricey (around IDR 25,000/portion), and the portion is still the same as before (small), thus if you have a big appetite, you must order twice or trice to fill your belly. Lots of Gultik and other street food vendors to choose from, and mostly they sell the same food such as sate, fried rice, bakso, siomay, just to name a few. There are other proper and fancy restaurants and cafes as well, and one of the oldest in that area is Hanamasa (a Japanese self-service restaurant). The street food vendors only open during dinner and supper time. Parking, however, is quite challenging especially during...
Read morebeberapa bulan belakangan ini jadi sering main ke blok m lagi.. for the sake of old time..
gultik is an icon of blok m.. pertama kali makan di sini lebih dari 30 tahun lalu jaman2 sma/kuliah.. jadi gue lumayan paham evolusinya...😅
poinnya.. kalo jualan jangan aji mumpung.. stay normal.
oh god.. i'm getting old..
sekian dan...
