I recently visited Hachi Grill at Gatot Subroto, and overall, it was a satisfying experience. The restaurant offers an all-you-can-eat Japanese BBQ and shabu-shabu concept with a wide variety of meats, seafood, and side dishes. The quality of the ingredients was fresh, especially the premium beef cuts, which were tender and flavorful when grilled. Their dipping sauces also complemented the meats very well. Love banget.

The interior is clean and modern, with a comfortable and spacious dining area. The staff were attentive and quick to refill orders or assist with any requests. I also appreciated that they offered a time limit that was sufficient—giving diners enough time to enjoy without feeling rushed.

One highlight of our visit was the surprise birthday celebration for a friend. The staff were kind enough to prepare a complimentary birthday cake and even sang a birthday song, making the moment extra special. It’s a thoughtful touch that adds to the overall experience, especially if you’re celebrating with loved ones.

Aside from the meats, my personal favorites were the sweet bubur ketan susu and their soft pudding—both a comforting end to a hearty meal. The place itself is clean, cozy, and spacious, with attentive staff who respond quickly to orders and requests. Special thanks to Mas Haekal that gave us the best service for us.

Price-wise, it’s quite reasonable for the selection and quality they offer, especially if you’re coming with a big appetite. One of all you can eat (ayce) restaurant that served grill and shabu. Reminder to make reservation before you come, to avoid the queue. For the foods, they have many choices, from the meats (they have meats for shabu and grill, it's different), vegetables, their side dish like tempura, curry, teriyaki, fried rice, chawanmushi, salad, kimchi, and many variant sauces. Five options for your shabu-shabu soup. Dessert is another level, because there's ice creams, shaved ice with various toppings, yogurt, puddings, of course you can have all of them. Drinks are also one thing, where you can choose ocha, infused water, coffee, various soft drink, thai milk tea, matcha milk tea, and many more. Here my experience. I chose tomyam for the soup, the taste was quite bland. Meats and veggies were fresh. They were fast to refill their foods. Kimchi was good. More prefer their yakiniku (grill) style. Minus point, the staffs were not that responsive and initiative enough, like in my case, i was struggling open the top of food place and the staff beside me didn't help at all, and when i called one of them but took time for them to come although they didn't do anything, just stood in there.

There're 4 different types of broths: Collagen Soup, Tori Dashi, Shoyu Dashi and Tom Yum. I've tasted two of them: Tori Dashi & Shoyi Dashi. They're so rich.

There so many side dishes and dessert options too: tempura, sallads, chawan mushi, kimchee, spaghetti, sweet cassava, beef croquette, ice creams, pudding, beverages and many more.

Remember, it's all you can eat buffet.

The food quality is superb. The staffs are really friendly, the restaurant is clean and I love the interior: simple yet elegant.
