I recently visited this restaurant and was highly disappointed with the service and quality. I ordered a tea, which was served on a saucer filled with water that hadn’t been cleaned. The accompanying water for the tea was lukewarm, making the tea undrinkable.
When I politely raised these issues and requested that the tea be removed from the bill—since it was undrinkable and left untouched—I was met with arguments rather than understanding. The staff insisted that I should have mentioned it immediately and even claimed that I had consumed the tea, which was untrue. This was especially frustrating because the first waiter, who didn’t speak English, had taken the tea away, effectively removing any evidence and making me feel like I was being called a liar.
When I questioned the second waiter if he was suggesting that I was lying, he replied that he would need to discuss my request with the manager. After a long, uncomfortable silence with no response, they finally brought the bill, which included the tea. I paid, only to receive a receipt with the tea still on it.
This experience felt very unprofessional and unfriendly, as there was silence instead of a reasonable discussion about the issue. I found this dismissive attitude rude and offensive. Throughout my time in Jakarta, I’ve never encountered service like this. It’s unfortunate, as the vegetables and meat looked decent, but the poor service overshadowed the experience.

I am writing to formally express my concern regarding the service I have repeatedly experienced at your establishment, particularly with one of your receptionists.
As a frequent customer, I have always appreciated the quality of food and ambiance at LOEWY. However, there has been a recurring issue that has left me and my colleagues feeling unwelcome. Each time we arrive for a walk-in lunch and this particular receptionist is on shift, she immediately informs us that the restaurant is full—without checking availability or offering alternatives such as a waiting list. Her approach gives the impression that she prefers to turn us away rather than accommodate us.
This has been quite disappointing, as we usually visit with a large group of friends and colleagues who also enjoy dining at LOEWY. However, this repeated experience has made us feel uncomfortable, and if this continues, we may have to consider other restaurants that provide a more welcoming and customer-friendly service.

Unfortunately, the experience fell short of my expectations right from the start. Not only were essential menu items like the breakfast burrito and avocado toast unavailable, but one of the drink options was also missing. Note that today their brunch menu is curated and hence very limited already, yet they are out of stock.
Compounding the disappointment was a problem with the sparkling water; it lacked the fresh, vibrant flavor expected of such a drink. Even after the staff kindly replaced it, the second serving failed to meet the mark, detracting further from the overall enjoyment of the meal.
To add to the letdown, both the shakshouka and eggs Benedict we ordered were overcooked, diminishing what could have been enjoyable dishes. Furthermore, upon receiving my drink, I noticed an ant inside the glass.
While the staff was helpful and quick to address issues, the series of mishaps, from unavailable menu items to quality lapses, made for a less than satisfactory visit.
