I hope the owner and the chef that cooked our food today reads this. Straight up 2 stars, because the food we ordered was raw and honestly B in terms taste for me. Ordered classic chicken burger and green thai curry.
The chicken in the burger was raw and the bun was burnt on top as you can see in the photo (dont you know charred bits like that can cause cancer?) 🤔
The “curry” is NOT curry at all, it’s a soup, as you can also see in the photo. You get roti prata but you cannot scoop the “curry” lol. Also the bits of the chicken in the soup were raw.
Props to the server who was attentive enough to apologize for the experience, made it a whole lot better honestly, i would’ve given a 1 star if the server was not that good (i forgot to ask his name) but hey, thumbs up to you my guy!
Fortunately they cooked another burger, this time properly cooked, the chicken was cooked thoroughly and no burnt bits on the bun, but as for the curry i just returned it because it was just not tasty at all and should not be called a curry.
Whoever cooked the foods just now should not be in the kitchen, ever. It’s a health hazard and can endanger someone.
As an apology they gave us a cake, good gesture but the taste is meh.
Coffee latte and chai latte was just meh, and somehow it was room temp and not hot.
They took the burger out from the bill which was nice and how it should be honestly.
The aesthetics of the place itself is nice 👍 but i just cant forgive the raw food that came to my table, also the price isnt cheap.

Read moreI like this coffee shop that looks warm with a simple and blank concept (there are no wallpaper hangings attached to the wall, but there are some plants in pots that decorate the room) that make the place come alive. Kopi Kalyan Shop was targeted by several good photo spots around Jakarta. Baristas make brewing techniques with specialty coffee and affordable prices too. Good coffee, comfortable room, prayer room are also provided. Kalyan Coffee also provides a large enough car park for the South Jakarta area. On Kalyan Coffee I tried several menus: Nasi Goreng Kebuli (Kebuli fried rice), it tastes really good, like eating in Arabic, hehehe Mie Ayam Pangsit (Dumpling Chicken Noodle), I like the noodles it's very soft in the mouth especially doused with broth ... wow the broth tastes really yum... Affogato, this is what I've been waiting for ... the coffee tastes really tasty, and sleepiness really goes away. Cafe Latte, definitely know what Coffe Latte is! ... I order Iced Cafe latte and really relieve thirst in the throat with a special taste of Kalyan Coffee...
Read moreFor the first time ever, I'm actually writing a Google review for a cafe/restaurant (which I almost never do, unless someone asks me to) because I loved the service so much—it was top-notch! Mas Fahmi, who helped with my order yesterday, was amazing. Super polite, really kind, very detail-oriented, quick to respond, and he even called me by my name, which I really appreciated. As a customer, I felt a personal touch with that.
I tried the Tom Yum Noodle (Rp95.000 before tax) and Kaisen Miso (Rp85.000 before tax). They were pretty good, portions were just right—not too little, not too much. But I think the taste could be improved a bit more.
As for drinks, I stuck with my all-time favorite, Es Kopi Kalyan Single—always perfect, never fails.
The ambience? No question—it's the best! I love everything about it. But I think it might be tough to get a spot on weekends since even on a weekday evening, I ended up at the bar (which actually turned out to be super comfy for eating and chatting).
I’ll definitely be...
