Laksa Tiam — Restaurant in Jakarta

I didn't eat here I order take away on gojek. I ordered the laskatiam seafood.

Let's start this is not Singapore Laska, at least not the one that is on everyone's mind. The taste of the noodle and soup is yummy & for me closer to KL seafood kari mee. So if you are a fan of Katong Laska this is not for you.

The noodle is well cook but the portion is small, Katong laska can get away with small portion due to the extra creamy soup.

The fish ball is ok, the fish cake is yummy & the prawn is properly cooked.

How does it compare to the KL kari mee. It lack the oomph as the KL kari mee soup is cook with lots of seafood that really power up the soup. Frankly I believe they should just do a version of that as the "tanpa santan" would still mislead others.

It is absolutely a nice to eat noodle but if you are craving for Katong Laska...

Comfortable restaurant with simple design. Their menu is quite simple with laksa, rice bowl, kaya toast, barley, Liang teh, and coffee. It has Chinese Singapore style dish. I ordered seafood laksa that cost around Rp. 42,000. They don't use the usual noodle for laksa, they use curly yellow noodles instead, which also taste good. The laksa tastes similar to curry noodles. The soup doesn't taste so strong, but somehow it has a strong taste of anchovies. I like the soup, as it has this laksa and curry fusion taste. Was expecting good things from this place due to its high rating, only to be utterly dissapointed. The food was meager yet overpriced, the serving time was too long, and the waiter is not friendly. In addition, they ran out of rice very fast. I finally managed to eat here after trying to come here several times (both weekdays and weekend, noon to night) only to be disheartened with the food.

I really do not understand how this place got so highly rated, and this is the first time for me to be so utterly displeased with such a highly rated place. Never,...
