After strolling around Pecinan Kota Toea (Chinatown at Old Town Jakarta) with a tour held by a community, we ended up having lunch at Pantjoran Tea House. This is a tea house that also serves main dish. Although we didn't have tea here, but we really enjoy the tasty foods. They also provide frames that will give you information about Chinese, tea history, and many more. Pantjoran Tea House consists of two floors. The first floor is smaller without air conditioner, whereas the second floor is bigger and comfortable with air conditioner. For the food, they it provide in three sizes, which are Small, Medium, and Large. We were group of four ordered all food in small size, and you know what the portion was quite big and fit for us. Here are what we tried : Sapi "Canton" small portion (IDR 80,000) Large, thick, and tender slide beef with sweet canton sauce. Udang Telur Mentega Krispy small portion (IDR 80,000) One of the chef recommendation menu from Pantjoran Tea House. Prawn with butter egg and crispy floss. Kailan 2 Musim small portion (IDR 55,000) One of the chef RECOMMENDATION menu from Pantjoran Tea House and also from me! Vegetable named kailan that is served in two "seasons', which mean in two different kind of cooking. The left one is my favorite! The leaves are served crispy with garlic. It similar with crispy seaweed snack. And the right one is the common sauteed kailan with garlic. Tahu Lada Garam (IDR 32,000) Again, this one also one of the chef recommendation menu. Crispy beancurd with salt and pepper. The rounded beancurd is thick and soft. I like the sauce, too. And last but not the least, don't forget to eat all of these with warm rice with chopstick 🙂

they sell a large selection of premium tea, with some dishes to accompany your tea time. since this place is specialized in premium tea, don't be surprised to find out that their price is above average. they guarantee a high quality tea, though. if i'm not mistaken, they have more than 30 kinds of tea leaves and i had no idea what to choose, started from white, green, black, floral tea and many more. don't worry, the staff is very helpful, just ask them what tea they would recommend based on your taste preference. they're very thorough in explaining all of the process, from the history behind each tea, the benefit, how to brew, until how to enjoy it. so basically they will give you a pack of the selected dry tea leaves, then take some for you to enjoy and you can bring home the rest of it. they will demonstrate how to brew it, and you can try to brew it yourself afterward or ask them again to serve you. beside the tea, i also tried the dim sum. the steamed pao bun was very delicious. the bun was moist and the custard filling was sweet but not overbearing. i tried the crispy tofu with salt and pepper too, and it was really delicious. the place itself is designed with old china theme decorations with lamps, furnitures, and accessories. it would be better for you to come with friends or family there, rather than being alone to cherish the art of tea time.

Exterior bangunannya mengikuti bentuk bangunan asli sebelum diperbaiki sehingga terasa nuansa vintagenya. Definitely must try kalau kalian suka sup herbal. Saya sendiri berencana pesan lagi kalau revisit. x. Dimsum : 1. Pie Putih Telur (IDR 32k) Putih telurnya terasa moist, namun rasanya nggak terlalu manis. 4. Lobak Saus XO (IDR 32k) TBH, biasanya saya ga suka lobak. Namun lobak di sini enak, saya sampai nambah. Teksturnya lembut dan permukaannya renyah. Rasanya pun gurih meski dimakan begitu aja. ×. Main Course : 1. Flavournya cukup strong, namun aromanya wangi. 2. ×. Tea : 1. Xi Hu Long Jing (IDR 160k) Teh Long Jing mengandung antioksidan yang bagus untuk kuli, namun sebenarnya saya disarankan red tea untuk menyesuaikan makanan saya. Sebenarnya Long Jing tea merupakan varians teh hijau.

Always been curious about Pantjoran Tea House every time i'm passing Glodok (Jakarta Chinatown area), and finally I decided to give it a visit. I ordered 3 type of dishes and 2 type of Chinese Tea. For the dishes I ordered Sapi Lada Hitam (S) which is beef with homemade black pepper sauce (favorite menu of all time 😋), chef recommendation menu Udang Telur Mentega Krispy (S) which is prawn with butter egg floss and also another chef recommendation menu Mie Goreng Kucai (L) which is Pantjoran Tea House signature fried noodle with hives. Overall, all of them is pretty delicious, portion wise also pretty good, but the prices some people will find it kinda on the expensive side. For the Chinese Tea in Pantjoran Tea House is served per pot per glass (for one person), price range varies depends on the choice of tea. Sadly, I forgot to note the type of the teas that I ordered (sorry you guys 😬). Overall for Pantjoran Tea House, i'm gonna rate it 5 out of 5. Great peranakan cuisines with authentic taste. Just superb, I love it. Not to forget the well selected Chinese songs. The waiters are also nice and humble. Aside from heavy traffic and hard-to-get parking spot, this place is nice. Nice interior detail with mini sculpture and painting. Authentic and old-school feels wooden partition, red-yellow lantern, and vintage ceramic tiles. They knew how to build ambience and peranankan feels. The building itself used to be an old Chinese medicine store called Apothek Chung Hwa (1928-ca 1997). Starting from December 2015, the building revitalization is finished, and in this very building they start to run this Pantjoran Tea House into business. You can read the rest of the details from the banner in front of and inside the restaurant. PS: They also would demonstrate the simple tea making ceremony a'la Chinese if you order "Gong Fu Cha" from the menu. Worth to try. For IDR 75k, I think it is worth a shot (at least for your own experience).

This place has been on my wishlist for a long time, ever since I saw a review video. First impression, the building from the outside looks really interesting. It has a historical and charming vibe (if you ignore the crowded street). It is located right by the Glodok entry sign. The interior on the first floor looks really antique, but the second floor was really cozy, except the humidity and hot weather (typical of Jakarta). The service was amazing despite the full table situation, and there were only 2 servers during lunchtime. I really recommend getting large sizes of XO fried rice and trying the salted egg pao! This place doesn't serve pork. It should be safe for Muslims. When I was there, a lot of the customers were Muslims (including our group). First-timers should try the tea ceremony experience, too. It was really interesting, especially if you love cultural stuff (like me!). Overall, I'm glad I finally got to visit this place. I'm hoping to come back in the future.
