Although the institution has been around for almost 25 years, it's still safe to say that this place is a hidden gem.
Tucked inside the corner of Jl. Tulodong where the busiest intersection of SCBD lies. Is a fine place of fine decor and fine food for only the finest diners.
Inside there is Hazara, the Indian face of Face Kitchen, and Lan Na Thai. A legendary Thai restaurant that has been around since 1988. Both came from the same kitchen, served in the same dining room.
We tried the Indian at Hazara and loved the comfort feeling it gave us. Like a grandmother's cooking, but served in a fine way. Not the kind that would explode in your palate. But just gently, caressing you in its depth of flavors.
The atmosphere was unlike any other. Like an oasis in the middle of a wind storm of SCBD traffic. Beautiful art pieces collected within so many years. Where every corner fits an art gallery.
On top of it, the service came from someone that you know had been doing this for most of their lives. Every detail is taken care of, and it felt genuine. No SOP to follow, just a simple human act of servicing one another.
If you haven't been here, then you should. If you have been a long time customer, then yes, you know how to treat...

Sunday Lunch 4 of us
After a very very long time and since they moved to this new location (6-7 years ago) this is our first time visiting this old well known and favorite Thai Indian restaurant.
Location/atmosphere: quite secluded although it is at middle of Jakarta SCBD area. It is below the Kokuu Japanese restaurant. Atmosphere feels a bit old and dark. But since we have lunch this time it doesn’t really matters.
Service: the waiters mostly from the old location. So we spent a bit of time about nostalgic experiences ….. they used to have branches in London, Beijing, Shanghai…
Foods: We ordered: steam sea bass lime sauce 9/10 prawn cake 9/10 thai fried rice 8/10 padthai 9/10 tom yum gong 9/10 papaya salad 8/10 (too spicy maybe) spicy sour fried fish 8/10 thai ice teas 9/10 mango sticky rice 9/10 So all the foods still great taste. As good as the old location as we remembered.
We ll come back again to this new location if we long for a nice thai Indian restaurant in south Jakarta. Wish they can get the same popularity as before at the...
