Beware: the food they serve is NOT guaranteed to be HALAL. Very disappointed to learn it almost the hard way today. Confirmed NOT HALAL: their Fish and Chip.
When my friend ordered a Fish and Chip, they did not tell him that it is beer-battered, despite him having Muslim-vibe all over his face (well-bearded Arabic Indo guy). When a staff was going to serve it to our table, I just casually ask if it's beer-battered to feel more confident of the food. The staff honestly told me it's beer-battered, and that he usually warns Muslim-looking customers when they order this menu. Too bad he was not the one on the till when my friend ordered it. I asked the other guy, who served my friend, why he didn't tell my friend about that. The guy was just mumbling and did not give any sound response.
I asked the one serving us if it's okay to change it. He politely said unfortunately he couldn't because it's already billed. Adding spice to the story though, a lady staff just decided to join our conversation from the till saying "no no cannot change" in a way that's not very polite. I almost snapped, because not only I was not talking to her, she didn't even bother to ask the reason of my request when she jumped in to the conversation.
Moreover, I can see someone senior (maybe their manager, maybe the owner) who was standing inside the till without wearing staff uniform. He observed this situation, but afterwards leaving the till area and sit on a table without even bothered to do any damage control. I can notice some of the staffs got called to sit on the same table with this senior guy, so he definitely someone who has any authority over them. What a shame, not even any polite words from him to us.
I am annoyed more on how they response to my enquiry rather than how little information they give on the halal status of the food (both on zero info written on the menu and the lack of communication during ordering process).
Not a place I'd like to visit again. Although I am definitely not their kind of target customer anyway. I am putting this story here (1) to inform halal-conscious people to be careful in ordering their food, and (2) to describe the sub-optimal...
Read moreI invited my family to eat here because of the jazzy night, but we were quite disappointed with the food. Anything with beef was barely edible for the price, I expected much better. The Thai beef dish, in particular, had a very small portion of meat compared to the picture, and about 80–90% of it was too tough to chew.
Out of the eight of us, three ordered with beef, one the Soto Betawi with beef and two ordered the Thai beef dish, and when we mentioned the issue, the staff simply said, “Oh, we cooked it right already.” That was surprising. The flavor itself was great, but the quality of the beef was very disappointing.
Tho upon paying, the lady was quite nice offering us two double espresso sachet.
The rest of the dishes were okay, but for the price, I definitely...
Read moreOh where do I start. The brekkie selection is disappointing; they pretty much only have pastries like croissant and pan au chocolat. If you are a big brekkie eater you might be fine since they can offer you Nasi Goreng or Fish and Chips.
Now let's move on to the thing that matters the most: coffee. My capuccino was extremely acidic and watery. I've never had this kind of capuccino anywhere. Good coffee is very subjective as it is a matter of personal preference, but awful coffee can be recognised by almost everyone. This is awful.
I've almost never given a one star rating but Liberica gave...
