This is our second visit as we enjoyed the food on our first visit. However this time I was shocked by the attitude of the Italian restaurant manager.
Honestly the parmigiana and pizza was outstanding. The service from the local staff was also attentive and excellent. However we were surprised by the tiramisu as it was served with the lady fingers still hard. I could even make knocking sound against the lady's finger with my spoon. It was clear the lady's fingers was not properly set yet with the mascorpone cheese.
We gave the feedback to the staff. The Italian Restaurant Manager came back to tell us that was how tiramisu should be served - hard and crunchy. This was different from the tiramisu we had the first time a few months ago. We remembered the lady's fingers in the tiramisu was soft and properly set, much like tiramisu we tasted in Rome and other Italian restaurants. When we highlighted the inconsistency from the first tiramisu experience we had at ORO, I was told off by the manager that he is Italian and what he says about tiramisu being hard and crunchy is right. He then stomped off after telling me I am wrong and he cannot accept my feedback on the inconsistent tiramisu.
My husband and I were left speechless by the condescending attitude of the Italian restaurant manager.
As much as the food was outstanding and great value with Eatigo discount, we will not return again. We are still reeling with shock at how we are being treated by the restaurant manager. Totally uncalled for and never experienced in any other Italian restaurants we have been to in...

Read moreLacking hospitality. [Explanation as requested] You have a rentier attitude, not a hospitality attitude. Suggest you read Derrida on hospitality. I have been connected to the hospitality industry for several decades, including 5 years teaching at an International hospitality university in Vietnam. So i do know a bit about hospitality. I was staying at the Grand Kemang, and normally I go to the pool side area to have my evening cigar. However, on that evening there was a function at the pool side, so I went to the front of the hotel. Not realising the restaurant was not connected to the hotel, I took at seat in front, and enjoyed my cigar. The other seats were all vacant. A staff member came to me with a menu and I politely declined saying I was was just wanting a place to smoke. They seemed ok with that. Then another, seemingly more senior, staff member came up and informed me that I had to order something or I would have to leave. So I left, and then sat on the hotel steps to finish my cigar. Yes, I fully understand you are in the restaurant business, and need to make money. But the attitude of your staff left a bad taste in my mouth. I will never be entering your restaurant again. If your staff had been a bit more accommodating I could very well have felt some form of obligation and eaten a meal or more at your establishment. But that will not be happening, please keep...
