In short: beer flat, satay not hot, customer service not good.
I’m being kind with my 3 star review because we really like other Senayan locations and I love satay.
We were walking hone and thought we would pop in for a light dinner - restaurant was nearly empty on a Saturday at 7pm. One couple inside on laptops and another out on the smoking area.
I had a very difficult conversation w our waiter because the draught beer is 45 and the bottle beer is only 40. After several back and forth questions, me trying to figure out why the draught beer is more expensive, wanting to understand if it was larger or?? Only to be told, the bottle beer was “habis” or all out. Ridiculous. So I ordered a draught beer only to watch it come out if the tap as 3/4 foam which they scooped out w a spoon about three times and ten min later I had a flat cool, not cold beer. Sigh.
My wife ordered a kallapa muda and was told they were out, no young coconuts avail and I joked because there are two vendors selling them in the parking lot out front!
Then they brought out our meal, an order of beef and chicken satay, in bowls over charcoal, ostensibly to keep them warm; however the charcoal was not hot or lit. We ate two or three before the wait staff finally returned, again despite the fact that there about 8 of them and we were the only patrons, actually eating. They took the dishes away, put in hot charcoal and about 5 min later, returned our satay, that had now all but cooled to room temperature. Sigh.
We also ordered the eggplant because I love it, rap the way the Indonesians make it! However it was a little large, served in two huge slabs, which were difficult to eat, as were only provided spoons and a fork - no knives. But otherwise, it was tasty and hot.
All in all, below average service for decent, almost good (had it been hot) satay. The beef stay were surprisingly meatier and more tender than the chicken! Highly recommend the beef!
They get a three star rating because it was after all the disappointment, at...

They should prepare the rice or other dishes when the stock almost finish ! This is not street food. It is a famous restaurant in indonesia. Your name will be bad to the foreign tourist ! Bad team work among the staff. Bad communication between the staffs...
Read moreThe menu is up to the Sate Senayan standard: a variety of food, and of course I tried one of the sate-s. We were helped very well by a nice waitress who had a lot of knowledge about everything on the menu. It was also a great experience that the food for both of us was served together, so no one needed to wait for one another. The price was very affordable. I should also not forget the parking officer, who helped us very nicely to get a convenient parking place in front of the restaurant. Thank you Sate Khas Senayan! It was good to be in your Kemang restaurant and we...
