According to Miss Mendes' owner, me and my wife were the first official customers they had at this newly opened Portuguese restaurant in the heart of Mega Kuningan. It is very nice to see the fresh look they gave to a place that previously was very dull and uninviting, so that alone made the experience enjoyable! Very attractive environment and friendly staff make for an easy recommendation, but when we tried their food it became obvious this was a place we'd be coming back to soon (my wife was there with friends a couple of days later for night live music)! We ordered the traditional Portuguese seafood risotto and it was delicious! Very fresh too, since they have their own acquarium in-house. The size of the portion was slightly smaller than what you usually encounter in the area for the price, but once you try it you understand you're dealing with a higher quality food that definitely justifies the small increase in price. It was well worth it, that's what I am trying to say. Dessert was also delicious and this time the opposite of the main dish, you get a lot for the price, probably most people would be happy to share the portion with their partners. We had the bread and butter pudding with strawberry coulis.
In summary, if you have tried Portuguese food before and are craving it, go because you won't be disappointed. If you never tried it, it's a great place...
Read moreBeing from Lisbon this is anything but Portuguese food. Most of the online menu is not available, the kinda scrap menu we were offered doesn't have anything to do with the online menu. After asking for several dishes that weren't available. We tried what they call grilled piri-piri chicken. There was no piri-piri sauce and chicken wasn't even close to Portuguese style. Only positive (if you want to be kind) was the fries. But they are just that.
Noisy pop music that has nothing to do with the country they pretend to be representing. Who on earth paints the walls black in an already dark place? The only reason it's, maybe they don't want you to...
