RAKKI Handroll & Sake Bar — Restaurant in Jakarta

As an omakase lover I personally wouldn't come back here... service and food was not satisfying. First we came in, we were seated at the most corner end of the table. The restaurant was empty, so we asked to be moved to the middle. Chef was not friendly, too busy getting pissed at his assistant infront of us (very displeasing to watch). Chef didn't explain the dishes to us, it was the waitress who explained which I think was weird because omakase place is known for chefs' personal touch. Chef always pass the sushi to waitress by hand and waitress pass the sushi to our table which I think was very unhygienic and unnecessary because the chef was right infront of us. Chef also didn't wash his hands regularly (he just wiped down on a cloth) very unsanitary for an omakase course.

We ordered the 11 course omakase. Nothing special about the menu. Every thing tasted very regular. First edamame, then kani mayonnaise, then tamago, then oyster, then 3 types of fish, then shrimp, last was miso soup and raindrop dessert.

Honestly disappointed they didn't even have grated wasabi plant (I confirmed because I asked them, and they said they use the paste wasabi). I expected better from an upscale sushi place. We spent over 6 million...

Finally found a legit Japanese restaurant in Jakarta! I’ve been so reluctant eating Jap food in Jakarta as i’ve been disappointed with the quality n taste over n over. However, a visit to Rakki today proves me wrong! Exceptional taste and service from beginning to end. Where do i even start?! We started with the salmon belly handroll .. mamamiaaaa .. perfection. Sauce n rice soo good! Then we ordered one of the set lunch that has the katsu sando, yuzu ebi fry don and sakura latte. It came exceptionally good! If they can nailed fried food to be this good, they know what they r doing. Fried to perfection. Crunchy, not oily. And let me tell you that sakura latte .. ulalala amazing. Enakkk bangetttt. Then we had the engawa, kanpchi, and aka ebi. They’re equally as good as the salmon belly. Im drooling just writing about this. The mini chirashi is not my favourite. It’s alright, i rather order another handroll tbh. Verdict is … i’ll come back for their omakase set next week. Yumm yummm soo good. Oh and service is EXCELLENTEEEE. Mba&mas nya sopannn, ramah and know what they are doing. Two thumbs...

I had an amazing time at Rakki Handroll & Sake Bar. The 11-course handroll omakase was fantastic, with each dish bringing something special.

Highlights for me were the Kanimayo with seared crabstick and spicy mayo, the sweet and perfectly glazed Tamago, and the melt-in-your-mouth Salmon Belly. The Hotate, Foie Gras, Ikura combo was super luxurious, and the Negitoro with fatty tuna and yellow radish was a standout. The Unagi with Anago sauce was the perfect end to the meal.
