The place was packed with people even though it was only 6pm on a weekday but tbh why do people like eating ramen at this place and the price are comparable to better ramen restaurants in Jakarta. Is it just because this place is Halal or what?
We ordered tan-tan men, ekstrim ramen with egg and chahan and the flavors were so bad and not authentic Japanese food at all. The ekstrim ramen with a squeeze of the provided lemon tasted like Soto (Indonesian food), the noodle was supposed to be half cooked but it was pretty soft and soggy when it arrived at the table.
The Chahan had so much dashi flavor that it tasted like fish fried rice, dashi in Japanese cuisine is supposed to compliment the food and should create a umami flavor instead the restaurant use it as a primary seasoning like MSG and Salt. Apart from overwhelming fish flavor, it has no other seasoning so it's not very Japanese at all.
The Tan-tan men was edible in a way, the ramen was supposed to be half cooked like the other ramen but came soggy and soft as well. The flavor of the soup was ok-ish, but it was so sweet, not very Japanese at all.
There are better Japanese ramen restaurants out there in Jakarta, such as Bari-Uma or Ippudo that will serve an authentic bowl of ramen at a much better value for money and most importantly taste and not regret eating bad ramen for the rest...
Read moreSeirock-Ya Ramen has been my go-to comfort food long before the pandemic. Whenever my husband and I can’t decide where to eat in the evening, this place is always our safe and satisfying choice. I always order the Toripaitan Shoyu Ramen, while my husband prefers the Toripaitan Shio Ramen, both topped with boiled eggs. The Shio broth has a saltier profile, whereas my Shoyu bowl offers a more balanced, umami-rich flavor. If you’re planning to try Seirock-Ya, I highly recommend dining in rather than ordering takeaway. Since they don’t partner with any online delivery services, enjoying the ramen fresh from the kitchen ensures the best experience.
They recently switched to a QR code ordering system instead of the previous paper menu. While it’s a convenient upgrade, the app still needs improvement. You can’t edit or review your cart before checking out, so if you make a mistake, you’ll have to start over from the beginning. Hopefully, they fix this soon!
Another downside is that they don’t allow outside drinks, including tumblers or bottled water. So, if you usually carry your own beverage, you’ll need to purchase drinks...
Read moreI came to Seirock-Ya long time ago before this restaurant have branch in Pondok Indah Mall, AEON BSD, and AEON Cakung mall. And now, coming to this restaurant yesterday, as well as many times before, makes me sure that this is one of the best Ramen Restaurant in Indonesia that I have ever tasted. And can go toe-to-toe with authentic Ramen Shop around Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka. It is that good for me!
Their speciality menu are mainly a Tori Paitan based soup Ramen, which offers creamy, thick, fulfilling taste that lifts away all your fatigue. The noodle have just a right texture and elasticity, the soft boiled egg, chicken meat, and fried shallot complement each other.
There is also "extreme ramen" (extreme refers to stronger taste, which Indonesians people are more used to) if you prefer. But I think Shio (salt) ramen has an extraordinary taste behind it's simplicity
Enough with the food. The place itself is quite adequate and comfortable for just eating. The service is good. My little gripes are two: they use same music for God kmows how many years over and over, and the restroom lighting has been quite...
