Teras Budhe is a Javanese restaurant that aims to transport diners to the heart of Java with its traditional ambiance and flavorful dishes. Located in a prime spot, the restaurant offers a glimpse into the rich culinary heritage of the region. During my recent visit, I had the chance to sample their signature Nasi Goreng, complemented by Chicken Satay and a fried egg, and tried the Tahu Gejrot, accompanied by Teh Tawar and Es Kelapa.

Let's start with the highlight of the meal, the Nasi Goreng. The portion was adequate, providing a satisfactory amount of flavorsome fried rice, tender Chicken Satay, and a perfectly cooked sunny-side-up egg. The Nasi Goreng tasted authentic, with a nice balance of spices and a hint of smokiness. The chicken satay was succulent and well-marinated, making it a delightful addition to the dish. Although it was good overall, I couldn't help but feel that it lacked that extra "wow" factor that would elevate it to an outstanding level.

Moving on to the Tahu Gejrot, it was enjoyable, but I must say it was just "ok-ish," as you put it. The dish had a tangy and slightly spicy sauce, which paired well with the fried tofu. As for the beverage selection, the Teh Tawar (plain tea) and Es Kelapa (coconut ice) were refreshing choices to accompany the meal. The Teh Tawar had a straightforward taste, but it was a comforting complement to the flavorful dishes. The Es Kelapa provided a cooling and tropical touch, making it a perfect choice for those seeking something sweet to quench their thirst.

The restaurant's ambiance deserves praise for its authenticity. Teras Budhe creates a warm and inviting atmosphere with traditional Javanese decor and music, allowing patrons to immerse themselves in the cultural experience. It's evident that the owners have put effort into crafting a genuine environment that reflects the spirit of Java.

However, my main concern lies with the pricing of the food and beverages. While the restaurant offers a genuine Javanese ambiance, the quality and portions of the dishes don't entirely justify the relatively high price. For the same amount spent, one might expect a more memorable culinary experience or additional special touches to truly set it apart from other eateries.

In conclusion, Teras Budhe provides an authentic Javanese experience with its ambiance and Nasi Goreng being the highlights of the meal. where do i start ? :D ok, dari depan ngeliat deret mobil2 yang terparkir makan disana, saya sudah merasa terintimidasi mengenai harganya nanti. and yes, harganya bukan buat semua orang :D BUT i dont have the smallest bit of regret, not at all.

Baru masuk kita sudah disambut ramah dibukakan pintu oleh team luar biasa mereka. level sambutannya bukan standar SOP kaya di indomaret or alfamart ya Om tante. it's PURE from their HEART!! selevel keramahan satpam dan Teller BCA, serius. padahal kita datang pas jam makan siang di week-end yang pastinya lagi penuh.

Begitu dapat tempat duduk, kita disambut free mangga manis dan ada sliweran snack2 jawa kecil gratis, we chose kacang rebus. Dan walaupun bersifat gratis om tante, kacang dan mangga ini super perfect, gede2, enak

Servernya banyak, kita ga sampai 2 menit sudah check buku menu dan pilih, penguasaan product knowledge bagus, keramahan, khas teller BCA, sumpah, keren ini Mbak Masnya Ga ada harga di menunya ya Om Tante, they want You to fully experience their fantastic food and service :D

Makanan datang dalam range 15 menit, yup, that fast. tanpa harus tanya2 ke waitersnya ada yang kurang, kelupaan, or apapun itu.

inget kacang gratisan diatas Om? kalau kacang gratisannya aja sesempurna itu, please dont expect less for the main course. IT'S ALL PERFECT, so Perfect, gue pernah belom pernah makan jengkol seenak ini dalam hidup gue, dan gue fans berat jengkol, i think i've tried many jengkol before. Semua makanan yang kita pesan, dari tampilan atau rasa ga ada duanya.

Lalu ada seseorang yang gue kira manajer operasional resto ini, berkeliling meja ke meja, beramah tamah dengan tamunya. some of Us would think that this is a normal standard in a high-end resto, right? But this time, its a whole different level.

Ternyata Bapak ini ownernya yang ga mau dibilang owner, dia lebih suka dibilang team leader. Mantan Chef di kapal pesiar. Dari sini kita tahu kenapa makanannya seenak dan semenarik ini.

Saya belum pernah bertemu orang se-humble dan seramah ini, dan apa yang dia ajarkan, dia lead, menular ke timnya. They serve from their heart

Ketika pulang, Pak Team Leader ini mengantarkan kita sampai parkir, menuntun ibu saya yang sudah berumur keluar restonya, mendoakan banyak hal baik untuk Kami dan keluarga.

And to be honest, dimana kita pernah mendapatkan service sebaik ini di sebuah rumah makan?

So yes, a 5 Star...

greeted by friendly host, and immediately found various authentic Indonesian food on their menu.

found out that their banana fritter is their favorite appetizer. no wonder people ordered for takeaway even before they finish their dine in meals.

I settled with beef rawon, cool es cendol. happy tummy at the end.

price wise, it's "atas", but you get equal quality food and service too.

another funny thing, waiters use word "izin" (permission to speak). just like military style. felt like eating in officer club. maybe they just need to soft it down a bit, most of our daily life is hard enough...

Dari nama sudah bisa ditebak Teras Budhe (TB) menyajikan menu rumahan khas Jawa. Budhe dalam bahasa Jawa artinya kakak perempuan dari ayah dan ibu. Dulunya lokasi TB ada resto Menado yang menurut saya cukup enak, walaupun secara visual tidak "menjual". TB bisa dibilang cepat naik, baru tapi selalu penuh. Ini yang membuat jadi penasaran. Tampak luar TB cukup menarik, dengan sigange besar dan menyala terang. Kesan modern pada tampak luar ternyata bertolak belakang dengan interior yang sangat "konservatif". Serasa masuk ruangan meeting atau ruang makan di balai kota pemerintahan. Nilai plus ada di pelayan TB yang dengan sigap menyapa begitu membuka toko. Jumlah staff mereka cukup banyak dan terlihat ramah. Menu mereka sangat bervariasi, mulai dari ikan, cumi, lidah, hingga tahu gejrot. Dari harga, TB cukup mahal dengan kisaran 100 sd 200rb/porsi. Bahkan 11-12 dengan harga menu 1000rasa ataupun Pelataran. Jangan kuatir mereka juga ada menu paket dengan nasi dengan kisaran harga lebih terjangkau. Memberanikan diri memesan Lidah Cabai Hijau (195K), tahu tempe bacem (35K), dan Tumis Daun Pepaya (75K). Well, walau was-was dengan harga ternyata rasa mereka enak! Selain harga, pesimis karena interior mereka yang "tua". Pengunjung mereka 90% adalah senior citizen dengan baju batik. Sepertinya target mereka adalah para pejabat. Dan ternyata benar, usut punya usut, pelanggan mereka banyak datang dari pemerintahan dan kepolisian. Dari sini terjawab semua pertanyaan-pertanyaan, seperti; Siapa customer mereka? Dengan menu yang mahal (walau enak) apakah ada yang datang? Dst. Bisa disimpulkan TB sudah punya pelanggan tersendiri, yang jelas bukan saya. Rasa mereka enak, pelayanan cepat dan ramah. Apakah akan datang lagi? Mungkin, tapi tidak dalam waktu dekat.

During my recent visit, I had the chance to sample their signature Nasi Goreng, complemented by Chicken Satay and a fried egg, and tried the Tahu Gejrot, accompanied by Teh Tawar and Es Kelapa. Let's start with the highlight of the meal, the Nasi Goreng. The portion was adequate, providing a satisfactory amount of flavorsome fried rice, tender Chicken Satay, and a perfectly cooked sunny-side-up egg. The Nasi Goreng tasted authentic, with a nice balance of spices and a hint of smokiness. The chicken satay was succulent and well-marinated, making it a delightful addition to the dish. Although it was good overall, I couldn't help but feel that it lacked that extra "wow" factor that would elevate it to an outstanding level. Moving on to the Tahu Gejrot, it was enjoyable, but I must say it was just "ok-ish," as you put it. The dish had a tangy and slightly spicy sauce, which paired well with the fried tofu. However, the flavors didn't seem to stand out, and it felt like it could use a bit more depth to truly shine. While it wasn't a disappointment, it also didn't leave a lasting impression. As for the beverage selection, the Teh Tawar (plain tea) and Es Kelapa (coconut ice) were refreshing choices to accompany the meal. The Teh Tawar had a straightforward taste, but it was a comforting complement to the flavorful dishes. The Es Kelapa provided a cooling and tropical touch, making it a perfect choice for those seeking something sweet to quench their thirst. The restaurant's ambiance deserves praise for its authenticity. Teras Budhe creates a warm and inviting atmosphere with traditional Javanese decor and music, allowing patrons to immerse themselves in the cultural experience. It's evident that the owners have put effort into crafting a genuine environment that reflects the spirit of Java. However, my main concern lies with the pricing of the food and beverages. While the restaurant offers a genuine Javanese ambiance, the quality and portions of the dishes don't entirely justify the relatively high price. For the same amount spent, one might expect a more memorable culinary experience or additional special touches to truly set it apart from other eateries. In conclusion, Teras Budhe provides an authentic Javanese experience with its ambiance and Nasi Goreng being the highlights of the meal. The Chicken Satay and fried egg perfectly complement the dish, though the Tahu Gejrot falls slightly short of expectations. The Teh Tawar and Es Kelapa are enjoyable drinks to accompany the meal. However, for the price point, one might expect more exceptional culinary creations or additional unique offerings to make the experience truly outstanding. Nevertheless, if you're looking for a cozy Javanese setting to enjoy decent Indonesian cuisine, Teras Budhe could be a reasonable choice.

where do i start ? :D ok, dari depan ngeliat deret mobil2 yang terparkir makan disana, saya sudah merasa terintimidasi mengenai harganya nanti. and yes, harganya bukan buat semua orang :D BUT i dont have the smallest bit of regret, not at all. Baru masuk kita sudah disambut ramah dibukakan pintu oleh team luar biasa mereka. level sambutannya bukan standar SOP kaya di indomaret or alfamart ya Om tante. it's PURE from their HEART!! selevel keramahan satpam dan Teller BCA, serius. padahal kita datang pas jam makan siang di week-end yang pastinya lagi penuh. Begitu dapat tempat duduk, kita disambut free mangga manis dan ada sliweran snack2 jawa kecil gratis, we chose kacang rebus. Dan walaupun bersifat gratis om tante, kacang dan mangga ini super perfect, gede2, enak Servernya banyak, kita ga sampai 2 menit sudah check buku menu dan pilih, penguasaan product knowledge bagus, keramahan, khas teller BCA, sumpah, keren ini Mbak Masnya Ga ada harga di menunya ya Om Tante, they want You to fully experience their fantastic food and service :D Makanan datang dalam range 15 menit, yup, that fast. tanpa harus tanya2 ke waitersnya ada yang kurang, kelupaan, or apapun itu. inget kacang gratisan diatas Om? kalau kacang gratisannya aja sesempurna itu, please dont expect less for the main course. IT'S ALL PERFECT, so Perfect, gue pernah belom pernah makan jengkol seenak ini dalam hidup gue, dan gue fans berat jengkol, i think i've tried many jengkol before. Semua makanan yang kita pesan, dari tampilan atau rasa ga ada duanya. Lalu ada seseorang yang gue kira manajer operasional resto ini, berkeliling meja ke meja, beramah tamah dengan tamunya. some of Us would think that this is a normal standard in a high-end resto, right? But this time, its a whole different level. Ternyata Bapak ini ownernya yang ga mau dibilang owner, dia lebih suka dibilang team leader. Mantan Chef di kapal pesiar. Dari sini kita tahu kenapa makanannya seenak dan semenarik ini. Saya belum pernah bertemu orang se-humble dan seramah ini, dan apa yang dia ajarkan, dia lead, menular ke timnya. They serve from their heart Ketika pulang, Pak Team Leader ini mengantarkan kita sampai parkir, menuntun ibu saya yang sudah berumur keluar restonya, mendoakan banyak hal baik untuk Kami dan keluarga. And to be honest, dimana kita pernah mendapatkan service sebaik ini di sebuah rumah makan? So yes, a 5 Star without hesitation

Dari nama sudah bisa ditebak Teras Budhe (TB) menyajikan menu rumahan khas Jawa. Budhe dalam bahasa Jawa artinya kakak perempuan dari ayah dan ibu. Dulunya lokasi TB ada resto Menado yang menurut saya cukup enak, walaupun secara visual tidak "menjual". TB bisa dibilang cepat naik, baru tapi selalu penuh. Ini yang membuat jadi penasaran. Tampak luar TB cukup menarik, dengan sigange besar dan menyala terang. Kesan modern pada tampak luar ternyata bertolak belakang dengan interior yang sangat "konservatif". Serasa masuk ruangan meeting atau ruang makan di balai kota pemerintahan. Nilai plus ada di pelayan TB yang dengan sigap menyapa begitu membuka toko. Jumlah staff mereka cukup banyak dan terlihat ramah. Menu mereka sangat bervariasi, mulai dari ikan, cumi, lidah, hingga tahu gejrot. Dari harga, TB cukup mahal dengan kisaran 100 sd 200rb/porsi. Bahkan 11-12 dengan harga menu 1000rasa ataupun Pelataran. Jangan kuatir mereka juga ada menu paket dengan nasi dengan kisaran harga lebih terjangkau. Memberanikan diri memesan Lidah Cabai Hijau (195K), tahu tempe bacem (35K), dan Tumis Daun Pepaya (75K). Well, walau was-was dengan harga ternyata rasa mereka enak! Selain harga, pesimis karena interior mereka yang "tua". Pengunjung mereka 90% adalah senior citizen dengan baju batik. Sepertinya target mereka adalah para pejabat. Dan ternyata benar, usut punya usut, pelanggan mereka banyak datang dari pemerintahan dan kepolisian. Dari sini terjawab semua pertanyaan-pertanyaan, seperti; Siapa customer mereka? Dengan menu yang mahal (walau enak) apakah ada yang datang? Dst. Bisa disimpulkan TB sudah punya pelanggan tersendiri, yang jelas bukan saya. Rasa mereka enak, pelayanan cepat dan ramah. Apakah akan datang lagi? Mungkin, tapi tidak dalam waktu dekat.
