Nestle at the foot of Mount Agung and near the beach, this wonderful dive resort is well situated nearby Tulamben best dive sites. I was welcomed with cold fruit drink and friendly staff after a long journey from Kuta, with its friendly staff. My luggage and equipment were ported to my modest bungalow, while enjoy the wonderful blooms and chirping of the birds in common garden between all the smaller bungalows. The front porch with two outdoor seats are well position to enjoy the great ambiance of nature. ||There are total of three pools, and a resting hunt for each, which are great places for massages if you wanted. As I walked further in, where all the villa apartments are located, that’s the best place to view the awe of Mount Agung, especially in the sunset evening.||The bungalow room was with king size bed, good for two. And well equipped with drawers, wardrobe, safe box, and drying rack outside, good for stays for weeks and beyond.||The room is also well stocked with amenities of drinking water, complimentary coffee and tea, with a working kettle to go along.||The house is also house with a strong air condition. For me, I always like to take long bath, so a bathtub is definitely lovely for me.||This dive center was well-run. The staff was efficient in getting my documentations and diving gear ready. During my refresher course, they were also attentive and patient to guide about my diving know-how, and are more than willing to share their years of diving experience with. As I haven’t dived for 10 years, they certainly didn’t rush me and kept the refresher experience calm and helpful.||In between break time, their restaurant is always ready to prepared you delicious meals, either western or local, with a decent variety on their menu, including alcohol. You can order special dishes a day in advance, which is nice for bigger group and new friends. ||As for safety of diving gear, they always check the gear for us, and with us before we take our transport to the next dive site. ||I had a total of 8 leisure dives and it was wonderful seeing all the amazing creatures I had seen before from my previous 65 dives, again! Not only that I also saw Sexy Shrimps, and Harlequin Shrimp for the first time.||It was definitely a wonderful dive trip with the Liberty Dive Resort and a great dive season to...
Read moreJust had an eight night stay in this beautiful property and loved it so much again. Everywhere was very quiet, nice for divers, but the almost total absence of Chinese divers has hit Tulamben businesses hard. The staff were are friendly and nice as ever, and the whole resort is immaculate. ||I was lucky to have had the same guide as last year, Made. I learned so much from him last year about photography and did again this year. Many of the little critters are less than the size of a grain of rice. Guides like Made and his colleagues are rapidly turning Tulamben into the nudibranch capital of the world. I have been lucky enough to have dived most of not all of the macro top spots in Indonesia and the Philippines and the nudibranch spots are best in Tulamben by a mile. The macro spots are not just confined to nudis, we saw wonderful crabs and shrimps including several harlequin shrimps, Donald Duck shrimps, a bobtail squid, a long arm octopus and a hairy octopus. ||The Liberty Wreck is of course a wonderful dive and we had it to ourselves for a quarter of an hour on a dawn dive, highly recommended. I first dived the wreck in 2011 and have never seen so many bumpheads as on this trip.||The resort itself is absolutely beautiful with a wonderful garden visited by kingfishers, bee eaters, a squirrel and numerous dragonflies. I loved chatting to Made, the head gardener, about his beautiful plants and lawns in the morning, chilling by the pool in the afternoon and watching the moon and stars little bats after dark.||All in all a wonderful experience at a very...
Read moreWe loved the resort, but be aware that it is not located on the beach. We were surprise of this as the web site let you think you are on the beach and they take you by truck to go elsewhere. They put you in a truck, along with your gear, and drive you to the beach. Some beaches are really close (2 minutes drive) and some further (10-15 minutes drive). There is a room for cameras, whit power outlets and desks to put them. As for your dive gear, there are no lockers. Your gear is put in a crate on the floor in the main area by the pool. And it stays there when you don't use it, even during the night. The resort is locked at night but all the guests are free to go around in the resort at night. There is a place to hang your drysuit. There are a lot of rincing tanks, which is great. There are two outside showers to rince. When we were there, there was not a lot of guests, so the loading-unloading in the trucks was ok. A big group came in, and things got a bit chaotic, with everyone leaving and coming back, and all the crates of gear lying around. Only one truck can be loaded at once, because there is no room for more. I just can't imagine how it works when the resort is full! We had a dive guide, which was excellent at finding us nidibranches and all kinds of small stuff to see. The minimum regulation in Indonesia does not require that a person is a divemaster to be a dive guide, but a rescue diver. So our guide was a rescue diver, but still they mostly do...
