The French Warung — Restaurant in Kecamatan Kubu

First of all: it's no real warung and it's definitely not French.

Wanted something vegan for lunch, so I ordered a salad (only vegan option). The glazed tempeh on the salad was okay - not really good but neither too bad. The salad itself was just iceberg, probably two days old. Aside came a so called "vinaigrette" - I can't imagine any of the French staff from the diving centre would accept this label for a mayonnaise-like slightly discounter-moustardy "cream". Awful. Do yourself a favor and go down the street.

It's attached to the dive shop so people are eating during surface intervals. Limited menu of mostly carbs - pasta, mie and nasi. There is no finesse or care put into their mie goreng.

Staff seem put out and unhappy as everyone comes around the same time. Will hate to see what happens during high session.

Staff is friendly but a bit slow, food is ok but the portion size is quite small, especially in combination with the prices. Vegetarian salad is good, vegetarian burger is rather bland. Breakfast is so/so but still they give you some juice with it. If you stay for a dive at dive concepts and you have little time, just eat here. If you have plenty of time, there are better restaurants...
