Garpu Restaurant — Restaurant in Kecamatan Manggis

We ate at Garpu while staying at Ramayana Resort for a couple days. During that time we had breakfast twice (included with hotel stay) and lunch once.

Both visits to breakfast were lovely. There was a pretty decent selection of foods to choose from. Everything tasted as good as you might expect for an included breakfast, and there was fresh coffee and a make your own tea option.

Unfortunately lunch did not live up to our expectations, hence the 3* review. The Thai Seafood Curry was bland and lacked nearly any flavor associated with a curry. The seafood was also clearly unseasoned and overcooked. The Gado Gado was even worse and bordered on concerning. My wife and I both spit out the piece of tofu we tried and questioned whether it had gone bad.

The staff and the view were amazing, but there is a lot of room for improvement...

Viel Show und wenig liefern. Unser erster Abend im Hotel und wir wollten noch was zu Abendessen also entschieden wir uns für das Hotel eigene Restaurant. Wir wurden freundlich begrüßt und an den Tisch gebracht sogar die Servietten wurden uns auf den Schoß gelegt. Dann fing das Unglück an. Wir bekamen keine Getränke Karte. Wir bestellten eine Fischsuppe und die Grillplatte (Empfehlung des Hauses) für zwei Personen und da ein Bier ganz gut dazu passt haben wir auf die Getränke Karte verzichtet. Die Fisch Suppe wurde geliefert und uns wurden die Platzteller entfernt. Kein Problem wir essen die Fischsuppe die sehr heiß war aber kräftig nach Tomaten geschmeckt hat. Mit viel tam tam und Krach wird unser Essen herein gebracht und wir gucken erstaunt und machen Fotos und freuen uns auf unser Essen das optisch Gut aussieht. Als die Fotos fertig sind das Personal längst weg ist stellen wir fest das wir gar keine Teller mehr haben. Wir rufen die Bedingungen und bestellen Teller die dann auch relativ schnell geliefert werden und sie sich auch entschuldigt. Als wir mit dem Essens anfangen ist das Fleisch lauwarm. Aber kein Problem wir haben ja einen Grill zum warmhalten der Grillplatte. Wir stellen fest die Grillkohle ist kalt so das wir das das Fleisch lauwarm bis kalt gegessen haben. Als wir ein Bier nachbestellen wollten werden wir fast ignoriert von den Bedingungen keiner ist aufmerksam genug um unsere Zeichen zu sehen. Wenn man dann denkt es geht nicht schlimmer kommt dann wenn man die Rechnung verlangen will und gehen will eine freundliche Dame und bringt zwei Scheiben ,,, warmes,,,, getoastetes Brot als Willkommens Gruß Mein Fazit beim Personal scheint jeder für etwas zuständig zu sein aber keiner hat den Überblick über den ganzen Ablauf. Leute geht woanders hin da bekommt ihr warmes essen zu einem deutlich...

Breakfast is as shown in photos, can have a range of fresh fruits, bread and cereals. Also can order eggs to your liking or other cooked food. We pre-booked 4 mornings of breakfast for two to save a lot of costs. The views are amazing with the roar of the surf always in n the background. We also ate dinner here, the Royal Kingdom is their best on the menu and served with pomp and ceremony. Very reasonably priced but too much for just the two of us. Probably four can...
