MIXED REVIEW.
This place has so much potential. Firstly the aesthetic of the restaurant and the views are world class! Absolutely stunning.
The food was very nice , however pricey for Bali but good value for Australia. We spent 3 million/ $300 AUD for a 2ppl 4 course set menu and two cocktails each. I thought this was good value for money, considering the quality of the food and the views.
THINGS WE DIDNT LIKE: 1- the restaurant played loud Christmas music on repeat ALL NIGHT, which became annoying after 20 mins. I don’t want to hear jingle bells and cheesy Christmas / gospel songs while having an intimate dinner. The music definitely changed the vibe for the worse. Some funky neo soul, chilled house music or acid jazz would have fit the location much better. Even elevator music would have been better !
2- though the waiters really tried their best, it’s extremely uncomfortable to have a team of 5 waiters stand 3 metres behind you and watch you the entire night. As soon as you finish your last sip of drink they come to the table and take the glass(I’m talking within 10 seconds!) . I’m not kidding when I say it felt like being watched by FBI agents. All standing in black and meticulously watching you THE ENTIRE NIGHT. We felt like we couldn’t have a private conversation or relax as they were standing right behind us watching our every move. We even went on the balcony to have a drink and they followed us and watched us outside. No privacy or moment for intimacy at all. They were simply trying to give good service and were very sweet but you must let the customers have some space to relax and unwind and enjoy the evening without being watched. Perhaps walk past the table every 10 mins instead of standing behind and watching closely.
3- there was only 3 tables including ours in the whole restaurant. Maybe this is why it felt like there was a team of fbi agents watching us as they were not busy, but it felt a little off to sit in a massive room with loud Christmas music and double the amount of staff compared to guests.
Overall it was very nice and with some small adjustments it could...
Read moreThe restaurant was not adequately airconditioned. We had to move tables to sit directly in front of a stand alone airconditioning unit. The rest of the huge, empty restaurant was too hot. The food was not good. Mostly dry. The red wine was served cold. We had to have the waiter take it outside to warm it to a drinkable temperature. The main complaint was they tried to poison me with nuts, which we made very clear that I was allergic to. The reservation stated I was allergic to tree nuts, the waitress confirmed this on our arrival. Then when my dessert was brought - chocolate and caramel (which on the menu did not have the nut symbol next to it, per the menu legend for nuts) I was allergic to it. My throat, tongue and lips reacted immediately. I did not eat any more. When I told the waitress that the dish contained nuts, she smiled and said she knew I was allergic. Somewhat confused, I reiterated that I am allergic to tree nuts and am allergic to the dish that was in front of me (that according to the menu, did not contain nuts) She went off “to check with the chef” She did not return. About half an hour later, a different person arrived with a new dessert whch she claimed “did not contain nuts” to replace the dish that had nuts in “I am very sorry for the mistake” The bill arrived and they had only taken the cost of the offending article off!!! I suggested they should take off the charge for the wine. This led to multiple time delays. Eventually the “manager” arrived. He tried to say that the “nut” picture on the menu did not mean tree nuts!!! What a joke? This made me much more angry. They acknowledged the dish had nuts in, and then tried to make out it was OK. And were not willing to show remorse or compensate me for my injury. And made us wait around for thirty minutes to be told that basically, they didn’t care. I could have died and they thought offering us a ride back to our hotel would make up for that.
All in all, a TERRIBLE experience. Do not go to this restaurant. There are many nice places to go - don’t put your lives in...
Read moreWe were warmly welcomed upon arrival, which set a lovely tone for the evening. The restaurant’s interior is beautifully designed—modern, elegant, and inviting—and the location is truly stunning.
However, once seated, we were promptly informed that several items on the menu were unavailable. This included the pesto, bocconcini, and one of the sides from the grilled mains section. It was a little disappointing to hear this upfront, especially given the size and scope of the menu—it felt limiting from the start.
We ordered a number of dishes, and the experience was a mix of highs and lows.
The mushroom tortellini was the highlight of the evening. Rich, flavourful, and well-balanced, it was beautifully executed and the most memorable dish of the night.
On the other hand, the cordon bleu balls were unfortunately dreadful. They were dry and overly hard, with an off-putting mouthfeel and a lack of balance in flavour. It was difficult to enjoy and didn’t reflect the standard we expected.
The carbonara had a pleasant, creamy flavour and was quite comforting. That said, the presentation was rather plain and didn’t match the refinement of the surroundings or price point.
For dessert, the panna cotta had a lovely flavour, but the texture was far too firm and rubbery—it lacked the delicate creaminess you’d typically expect.
The crème brûlée started strong, with a satisfying crack on top and a silky, vanilla-forward custard beneath. However, it was a touch too sweet and quickly became overwhelming after a few spoonfuls. Additionally, the dish lacked the contrast between a warm top and chilled custard. Instead, the entire dessert was warm, likely due to the use of a wide, shallow bowl which caused the custard to heat through during torching.
Despite the beautiful setting and welcoming staff, the meal fell short of expectations. We left feeling underwhelmed, and unfortunately, not particularly excited about the overall...
