Mövenpick Café — Restaurant in Kuta Selatan

As we didn’t have included breakfast Café was our go-to spot for breakfast. Prices are reasonable and food is good. Yoghurt bowl is really tasty and nourishing, pastries are great! Sometimes croissant was too oily, but usually good. Coffee is great too. The only thing I would recommend improving is breakfast menu- it’s very limited. For example they have continental and vegetarian continental which is very big breakfast- mushrooms, tomato, avocado, bacon, sausage, eggs your way, toast, hash brownie and huge bowl of fruit (obviously for vego substitute for meat). Why not have only eggs and toast or some simple brekky burrito? And lastly, staff were very confused about kiddo breakfast and what’s included. We ordered three times and every time we got different items. The menu stipulates granola, yoghurt, croissant or pancake or waffle, fruit and juice. First time we only got pancake as we were told to choose between granola&yoghurt, next time we got everything, today we got all the except for juice. I think it should be a choice as it’s huge breakfast for kids, but at least stay consistent with whatever you offer. Cakes were tasty too- we had cheesecake and chocolate pear mousse. Ordered the Mushroom & Spinach Quiche, Almond Croissant, Iced Cappuccino, and the Strawberry Lassi..

I’m not sure if I picked the wrong pastry, but everything was a fail. The quiche didn’t have that creamy, cheesy taste and lacked seasoning, the croissant was way too sweet there was so much sugar in it, the coffee was so-so, and the lassi fell short of expectation as it didn’t have that thick texture and tasted way too much like a yogurt drink.

As for the service, it took way too long for the server to tend to customers that the people in front of us walked out. When we ordered—standing up in front of the display case—the server seemed unaware of the pastry we wanted and we had to point to it, which showed lack of knowledge. We weren’t welcomed when we came in, weren’t ushered to our seats, and were delivered a wrong number of cutleries. It surely didn’t reflect the kind of service Movenpick...

This is a cozy little cafe with a charming ambiance. While the pastry selection is somewhat limited, the drinks are definitely a highlight. What We Loved: Delicious Drinks: The drinks are expertly crafted and incredibly flavorful. We particularly enjoyed the refreshing red juice. Excellent Service: The staff were friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service throughout our visit.

Areas for Improvement: Limited Pastry Selection: The variety of pastries could be expanded to offer more choices for customers.
