Mapo Galmaegi — Restaurant in Kuta Selatan

Magal is short for Mapo Galmaegi.

As much as we wanted to enjoy this meal, it left much to be desired. We had previously tried the location in Kuta as we enjoyed that branch. Besides the look and set up, the food was far inferior.

We ordered a couple portions of bbq, budae jigage, and the tteokbokki. Aside from the side dishes being fine, the mains were a let down. The meat portions were tiny for 100k per dish and the seasoning was so sweet. The tteokbokki was overcooked and the rice cakes disintegrated which was making it difficult to eat.

We unfortunately don’t recommend this location. The staff was super nice and attentive. The location is great with a nice mall called Samasta.

When you go to Korean bbq restaurants around the world, you expect a certain caliber of food, but not here. Hope they can improve on...

I recently visited a Korean BBQ restaurant located within the Samasta Lifestyle area in Jimbaran, Bali. The service was quick and attentive, which was a great start to the meal. They offered a wide variety of menu options, featuring different types of meat that catered to various tastes.

The food was delicious, and the BBQ experience was enjoyable. We enjoyed some grilled beef meat which all perfectly seasoned. However, one notable drawback was the air conditioning system, which didn't seem to be working efficiently. To compensate, the staff provided additional fans at each table, which helped make the dining experience more comfortable.

Meat is ok. The spicy beef ribs soup is a big disappointment. Taste just like instant ramen with beef ribs. The worst thing are the service. The staff didn’t pay attention when I place my order, she keeps looking outside so I have to repeat my order several times. When I asked them to clear up my table, they keep asking “are you sure?”. Well we did have a lot of leftover, took us one hour to get here just to get a bad service which really turn down our appetite. In the end we paid the bill and they never mention about dessert.
