10 % discount if you leave a ‘happy satisfied review’ might influence rating.
I really wanted to like this place. Beautiful view, the menu looks great and so do the pictures. Unfortunately the seafood plater was served almost cold, the fries were stale. I saw my plate being taken back into the kitchen and the flambé burner being used on it, now it makes sense why. I think my plate was waiting for my partners to be served. His was hot (but fish was dry), mine cold. You can see in the picture that the flamber was being used on the fries. I don’t even want to blame the kitchen because they were working hard. I did raise this to the staff after and they kindly offered me to make something new so the service is great.
Unfortunately also the drinks although nicely presented on their instagram, tasted very watery.
The two guys who paid before us also were not satisfied with their food.
A 10 % discount is offered if you are ‘satisfied and happy’ and leave a review. Unfortunately I was not so I couldn’t make use of this. It seems also that reviews might be biased due to this offer.
In the end we did get offered a 20 % discount on just my plate which ended up being less than the 10 % for a satisfied review. The staff was very apologetic and I almost didn’t want to leave this review, but we came here because of the 4,7 rating and I feel like this could be due to the 10 % discount offer. Positive reviews should be given because people leave a place and thinking ‘wow this was great I want to write a review’ and not to get 10 % discount on the spot. Not fair to the customer and not fair to the other restaurants around that actually really earned their reviews.
Initially I gave 3 stars but I came back to change my rating to two because this ‘review’ fishing is not cool.
Edit: the offer states ‘satisfied and happy’ (see attached picture) and I talked exactly about this to your staff saying that I would love to leave the 5 stars but that I just can’t because we were not satisfied so we didn’t get the 10 %. I really don’t care about 10 % or even 20 % off. As you can see in my almost 50 reviews or so I rarely complain or leave bad reviews. I think asking for reviews for a bonus is just not a good practice.
Anyways thanks for your answer and I wish you all the best for your restaurant as the location, view...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant as a group of 10 on the 12th August 2025 for dinner and were surprised by the disappointing experience we had compared to some of the reviews left on here.
We made a reservation (we had email proof) but the staff said we hadn’t made a reservation and tried to imply we had cancelled it, as if to get rid of us?
The service was incredibly slow and we had to ask for water, drinks and new cutlery throughout the evening. Our dinner came to the table cold as it was waiting on the bar for so long before the staff brought our dishes over. When it arrived, we couldn’t eat as there was no fresh cutlery on the table. Our starters were only half cleared off the table as well at this point.
We only had one drink p/person and at no point in the evening did staff ask if we wanted more refreshments. It didn’t seem like a particularly busy evening as there were only six other tables at the restaurant. The food was unfortunately quite average and when I asked to remove the service charge at the end, we were told we could not.
Our friend who was also gluten free also struggled to order food as she attempted to order two meals from the “gluten free menu” but the chef contradicted this by saying her choices were not gluten free.
By this point we just wanted to leave so ended up paying the service charge. I’m not one to usually leave disappointing reviews but unfortunately our trip to Mensa has been the low point of our Bali experience.
Leaving this review as I wish others to be mindful and make informed decisions. If the staff were more proactive, maybe our experience would have...
Read moreAmazing view and friendly staff but that's where it ends. It feels like the place is lacking management and they really fail to deliver on a bunch of relatively pricey dishes that are poor quality.
It started looking bad when the drinks came and both were heavily watered down in long glasses. One of the two drinks was just soda water with a hint of lime so the waitress changed it but the replacement was just as watery.
We had three small plates to start. One (the prawns) was ok, although the prawns had been overcooked to the point of being tiny. The other two were almost completely tasteless and under seasoned. The chicken was fighting for its life and overcooked, possibly reheated from earlier.
The two mains were awful. A mahi mahi dish that was overcooked and this time overseasoned with a grey cauliflower puree that was 80% fish stock(?), very little cauliflower and no cream.
The most offensive was the pork belly nasi goreng that contained pieces of cubed carrot, tiny broccoli florets and pepperami (yep, pepperami) which I think was meant to be chorizo. The pork was deep fried to a point where it was just flavourless crispy dust, and the pork crackling they served was stale, soft and clearly out of a bag.
We asked the waiter if broccoli and pepperami were common ingredients in a nasi goreng and he just kept laughing.
The meal also resulted in stomach...
