I ate around 6-7 times at this restaurant, which is part of Hotel Nikko, a fantastic 5-star hotel in Nusa Dua.
The waiters are very nice and professional and the kitchen are very accomodating when it comes to special dietary needs. The athmosphere is generally simple and sober as expected for a Japanese restaurant. All good.
The sushi and sashimi are good, but not exceptional. First, it would be nice to see a larger variety of fish (tuna toro, yellow fish, unagi nigiri, unagi rolls, scallops, etc). It would also have been nice to have more variation in rolls (not just salmon, veggie and prawn). Second, the temperature of the rice was always a bit too cold (not hand-warm). Overall the nigiri and sashimi did not really "melt" in one's mouth as they do in great sushi places where the texture is perfect.
Unfortunately, the unagi fillet was a disaster. Good unagi fillet should be tender and easy to cut with chopsticks. The unagi fillet they served me was chewy like leather. I could not even cut it with a spoon and the skin was all wrinkly. I assume they did not steam it before grilling and the sauce was mediocre. It was really unediable. So, please fix the preparation method or remove this dish...
Read moreI had the pleasure of dining with my family last night at Nagisa Izakaya Restaurant in Hotel Nikko Bali, and it was an extraordinary experience! The Teppanyaki dinner was nothing short of spectacular, with Chef Gede Budi showcasing incredible skill and artistry.
The seafood was fresh and beautifully prepared. Each piece of salmon, tuna, and white snapper sashimi was a taste of perfect umami. The prawns were cooked to absolute perfection, with a delightful garlic butter that added a rich, savory touch.
What truly made the evening unforgettable was the impeccable hospitality. The staff and Chef Gede were attentive, friendly, and went out of their way to ensure our experience was exceptional. If you’re looking for a top-notch dining experience with fantastic Japanese cuisines and warm, welcoming service, Nagisa Izakaya Bali is...
Read moreOne of the best place to have your sushi. The ingredients are fresh and super tasty! I recommend you to try the Salmon Teriyaki Bento Set (I kinda forget the menu name, but I attached the picture here)! The salmon was juicy and the bumbu was umami! IT WAS SO GOOD! BTW, I heard that the chef itself is Japanese, thus we should not questioning the quality of the food. I cannot forget their ocha tea also! The best quality of ocha tea so far. I am a huge fan of Japanese food, so I love to explore in many Japanese restaurants around Bali, but I have never been found the same quality of ocha. It was aromatic and taste clean! But there was nothing special with the presentation. It...
