Single Fin Bali — Restaurant in Kuta Selatan

Had the WORST experience here. Ordered a bottle of wine which isn’t cheap (£30) but I was willing to pay. I’m a solo traveller, my plans was to buy a bottle of wine and drink it until sunset. I lock my bags up on the chairs with my wine and go to the toilet for literally 5 mins. I come back my bottle of wine and water was gone (I only drank 25% of it, as I’m solo and a slow drinker). Asked the staff immediately why did they take my drinks when clearly my bags were there. There was no apology from the manager or the staff. One of the staff was smiling / laughing the whole time I was distressed. The manager said we can give you one glass of wine as compensation??? I’m sorry what? I almost reported them to the police for theft.. they said they’d look at CCTV but will take 30 mins and I said go ahead but I’m not waiting 30 mins and you need to give my wine bottle back (I have a receipt & picture evidence of everything). Then eventually the manager agreed to give a bottle to me (but it was less than what I had left originally). He then said he had to pay out of his “own pocket for the wine”.what does that mean?? You took an almost full bottle of wine i was still drinking WITH all my bags on the chair still… for no reason! Plus they took my water and never replaced it. After that the manager said “but you told the staff you wanted the wine to takeaway?!” I never EVER told staff at ANY point I wanted “drink to takeaway”. I came specifically to watch the sunset and they took my drinks at like 5.15pm (like an hour before sunset). I don’t know why the staff lied, but it’s disgusting customer service and i would never recommend this place again. Severely disappointed. Came here for sunset and got a table minimum spend 1 million idr between 2 of us, which was fine. Ordered a cocktail jug and no glasses came with it - asked 4 times for some glasses and none ever came, 20 minutes later still no glasses and ice was completely melted. Had to go to the bar and wait for 10 minutes and stand there just to get 2 dirty glasses. We had ordered food at the same time as the drinks and my boyfriend’s food came out before we even had any glasses for the drink. My boyfriends food came out 20 minutes before mine with no cutlery. I asked for cutlery 3 or 4 times to different people who just told me “it’s coming” every time. He waited 15 minutes before eventually just eating with his hands as his food was stone cold. Cutlery eventually came after 20 minutes and asking countless times and then my food came out after his plate had already been taken away as he had finished so long ago, so I ate by myself. My food was missing the mango and had 3 bits of beef in a Thai BEEF salad, but the service was so slow there was no point saying anything. Service was appalling, especially considering that we had to agree to a minimum spend for the table we were on which was a lot for 2 people compared to anywhere else we have eaten (we would have been happy to pay had the service been good and we got to actually enjoy a meal together!). Really disappointed and felt like we were ignored and disregarded the entire time, especially considering that the reviews had looked good prior to arriving. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the Single Fin Bar due to a very negative experience. I chose the hotel because I had seen good recommendations about it, and I liked the location, but it was the worst experience I have had in Bali so far. I have been in Bali for three weeks, I’ve stayed in many places – from budget hostels to luxury hotels – and never felt as unsafe as I did here. I was robbed at this resort, which was supposed to be the safest because of the security, staff, and cameras. I went swimming in the pool for five minutes and left my very expensive, new YSL sunglasses at the table under my cup. I'm pretty sure they were hidden. When I came back, they were gone. It was a matter of minutes. It was broad daylight, and the area was supposedly under video surveillance. I reported it Immediately to the two managers Unfortunately, their response was disappointing. First, they said there was “too much movement” on the cameras. Then they claimed the umbrella blocked the view. Later, they mentioned it must have been an outsider guest, but they had no name or further details. It was such a chaotic situation that I didn't enjoy any of the time I spent there. They didn't take responsibility, and they didn't take me seriously. I couldn't see the camera footage.
