A small, peaceful oasis in Uluwatu with a few things to keep in mind. First off the staff are kind, friendly, and very accommodating. They took care of us at the restaurant and throughout the day, and organized transportation with a driver that we used throughout our trip. The location is also great, as the pool overlooks a beautiful cliffside and ocean view. The restaurant is totally good and offers a large daily breakfast and plenty of options for snacks and other meals. The pool is so relaxing but has seen better days - some loose stones require care when walking around or climbing in/out. Our room, the deluxe double number 29, was similar. Everything we needed to be comfortable, but not the cleanest place around and pretty dark inside. The other rooms, all painted white, could have been cleaner and brighter than ours. Two bottles of free water per day. I would recommend Uluwatu Cottages to anyone looking for a laid-back place to relax in the sun. The staff are wonderful, and the chill vibe makes up for some of the hotel’s lack of polish. It’s also a short walk from numerous beaches and restaurants via a quiet backroad. Bonus points to Kaka, the restaurant manager, and his team for accommodating us as vegans!

Bit of a mixed bag really! The cottage itself was comfortable. My bedding was stained however. I was almost attacked by monkeys as I made my way to breakfast on the first morning but the staff shooed them away promptly so take care! As the cottages are at the end of a long road and I didn’t hire a death trap scooter, I decided to eat at the accommodation each night. The burger on the first night was average. The tropical pancake served with breakfast was delicious each day. On the second night for dinner, I ordered the chicken and felt something hard in my mouth. Upon inspection, it turned out to be a metal screw! I hate to think what would have happened if I had swallowed it or worse, it ended up in a child’s food. I escaped luckily with no broken teeth or internal injuries. I also had a long black hair in my orange juice at breakfast the next day. I just feel disappointed with this place. I had high hopes but was left feeling disgusting with the kitchen hygiene

Booked my stay at Uluwatu cottages after looking at pictures of the pool. The pool and sea views were the highlight of my stay here. You can lay on the pool/day beds all day to admire the view. You can watch the sunset and sunrise here. Toilets in the double room seem to be renovated, which is nice. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, though the furniture looks a little old. Note that this property is right next to Ulu Cliffhouse, so you would definitely hear music from the beach club. Music starts from late afternoon at about 3pm.They had a huge party in the 2 nights I was there, and I could feel the bass in my room. It was fine with me but may not be for someone who wants a quiet stay. Watch out for monkeys in the day too, they might sneak up to you and grab some of your belongings. Some of the guests had their glasses taken. Breakfast was included as part of my stay and was decent. The other food items are also decently priced.

Quaint cosy place with a spectacular cliffside view of the ocean. Breakfast food was average to minimal but getting food outside can be tough as the hotel is located quite a distance from the main road and shops are far apart from each other along a hilly road. Best form of transportation is by scooter or car rental as the only other option is the overpriced taxi service in partnership with the hotel.

Despite that, my stay would have been pleasant if the hotel didnt require me to change rooms after my first night. Before my stay, they emailed me that it was due to some upgrading renovations to the bathrooms and I had requested them if they can make arrangements that I don't have to switch rooms but I did not receive any reply. Fast forward to my second day at the hotel, a clerk knocks at my door informing that I need to leave my current suite into another because there were guests that were checking in. Seriously?! Why can't the new guests stay in the other vacant suite and why is there a discrepancy in the reasons for my move? The clerk replied that it's common practice to swap guests in the case of their limited number of rooms being fully booked. She went on to explain that the original room I was in was their Premium Suite as a sign of goodwill for the inconvenience and that the room I'm moving to was the actual suite that I had booked. I requested to speak with the manager Mr Indra but he was not in at the moment - nor for the remainder of my stay. I will not return to this hotel and I would advise future vacationers to think twice about...

The noise is something I have to mention because no one else is! We arrived on a Friday night around 1am, there was staff waiting at reception to promptly check us in and the room was nicely kept and spacious. We’re not too picky as long as it’s a good bed because you’re rarely in it anyways unless to sleep. Saturday morning 9am music started blaring from the neighbouring ULU cliff house bar and club. It was not pleasant but much worse was the sound in the afternoon and up until way past midnight. It was exactly like living above a nightclub. This was only Saturday night but given we spent two nights there to rest over the weekend it wasn’t welcome.

Other than that the personnel is lovely, the view gorgeous, the infinity pool so warm and perfect... the massages were good and the drinks too. Honestly the best was just that pool, I’ll repeat, it had spots to sit and read and the poolside had huge double beds to relax on.

Food: small mention was that they’re not vegan friendly which is a surprise for a tourist stay in Bali. No vegan breakfast options (we didn’t try any other meals there). They consequently gave me a whole cut avocado instead which while definitely not my idea of a delicious breakfast was appreciated because it showed...
