I ordered a Greek salad anticipating fresh, crisp vegetables, but what I got was the complete opposite. The cucumbers were limp and soggy, tasting as if they’d been sitting in a fridge overnight.
I raised my concerns to the waiter. The manager came over (which I appreciated), but then the situation took a bizarre turn: the chef himself came out and defended the soggy salad instead of apologizing. He insisted that the cucumber was intentionally marinated in salt to give it that soft texture and claimed this detail was clearly stated on the menu. I was stunned and appalled by this defensive, misleading response.
To make matters worse, the chef asked me where I was from — as if that had anything to do with the quality of the food or my expectations. I found the question completely inappropriate and unprofessional.
Believing I might have overlooked something, I even apologized at the time and felt embarrassed for complaining. However, after the meal I checked the menu thoroughly and discovered there was absolutely no mention of any “salt marinade” or special cucumber preparation. The chef had blatantly lied to my face to cover up the low quality of the dish. I was absolutely outraged and felt insulted to be deceived like that as a paying guest.
They did end up removing the salad from my bill, but that’s the bare minimum after such an ordeal. It doesn’t change the fact that I was served a subpar, clearly not fresh dish. Even worse, I was then essentially gaslighted by the chef in an establishment that advertises itself as upscale (and charges accordingly). The lack of honesty and quality control is astounding.
And as if that wasn’t enough, the restaurant has no zoning at all — so if you’re a non-smoker, be ready to sit next to people smoking right by your table while you eat. Absolutely unacceptable in 2025.
Overall, this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. I left feeling furious and disrespected. I expected far better from this restaurant, but instead I got low-quality food, a misleading explanation, no smoke-free area, and a chef more interested in excuses and my nationality than in genuine hospitality. I will not be returning, and I urge others to think twice before dining here. If you value fresh food, honest service, and basic comfort —...
Read moreAs our final evening in Bali unfolded, we sought a picturesque dining experience by the water to bask in the sunset’s glow. Everything seemed perfect—the view was captivating, the appetizers were delightful, and the drinks refreshing. In a moment of indulgence, we chose the burger for our main course, a rather decadent decision given our week of careful eating. Both of us had been diligent about our water consumption, opting exclusively for bottled water and even using it to brush our teeth. The burger, while initially satisfying, revealed its true character as we bit into the center, where it appeared undercooked and rather greasy. Regrettably, the realization came too late to remedy our choice. The night took a turn when, around 3:30 AM, prior to our alarms sounding, my girlfriend began to experience severe nausea, promptly followed by the inevitable. Arriving at the airport around 4:30 AM, I, too, found myself succumbing to the same unfortunate fate—experiencing intense gastric distress. Now, as I pen this review in Singapore, awaiting our lengthy flight home, the lesson is clear: while the ambiance and overall dining experience were exceptional, I would strongly advise against ordering the sunset burger. May this cautionary tale spare others from a similar predicament of...
Read moreThe best part is the location and overall atmosphere. Very little places can beat it in the area. The service overall is good, just they are way too persistent and in a matter of minutes you are asked couple of times how the food is and how the beverages are. It happened couple of times that they have just served the food, we have not touched it and we are asked how it is. It gets annoying and you are constantly interrupted, this is happening multiple times in a matte of minutes. The food is good, but frankly for this price range it is average at best as there are plenty other restaurants with lower price range that serve better food. From the 4 deserts in the menu, only the ricotta was good - the other three were barely touched. We did not get charged for two of the deserts as compliment from the restaurant. To be frank, I wouldn’t visit the place again. Note - all prices in the menu DO NOT include Tax (10%) and service (10%). We spend approx 800k to 1...
