ZICATELA — Restaurant in Kuta Selatan

Not authentic mexican food but they don’t claim to be one either (indo-mexican fusion). However if they incorporate more Mexico into the menu then the restaurant will be better.

Many things that can improve. First of all, have more tacos on the menu! The shrimp tacos is the only item that serves tacos in classical mexican sense and it is by far the best dish on the menu. Tropical Taco is OK but tacos in Mexico are usually served in the smaller tortillas instead of one big. It is better in my opinion also. I suggest they add original mexican pork tacos (Al pastor), carnitas or birria. Or some simple chicken tacos. Just too few tacos! This is a mexican restaurant but less than 5% of items are tacos! How is it possible?

Do a simple mexican taco with good meat marinade, coriander, onion and lime. Not so much other stuff!

The Margarita seems to be mixed with a bad tequila. I suggest to mix Margaritas with Don Julio Silver for smoother taste.

The vegan ice cream is as hard as a rock. I returned it immediately, it could not be eaten unless I would have waited an extra half hour for it to melt. They should add more desserts to the menu instead of rockhard ”vegan” ice cream. A simple flan or churros would do the trick!

Poor dessert, quite poor margarita and a small menu for tacos is compensated by the fact that the food we ordered still tasted...

First time I came here I saw the fresh fish arriving and I knew I was on the right place!

Zicatela is my absolute favorite spot in Uluwatu! It's the perfect place to enjoy delicious food and great company. Their margaritas are simply the best (maybe in all of Bali!), and the micheladas are a must-try. The food is incredible, with dishes like ceviche, Poke Tuna Bowl, Fish Tacos, and Guacamole that are out of this world. ❤️

What's even better is the warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like part of the family. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the generous portions and quality. They even have board games to enjoy with friends. The music adds to the vibe, making it feel like a true Mexican experience.

Zicatela has captured our hearts, and we'll definitely be spending as much time here as possible during our stay in Uluwatu. Trust me, you won't regret visiting...

Don't trust it if you have any allergies or intolerance. We have been eating today and the first thing we asked if they had Gluten free options because my daughter is celiac and we showed her the document with the explanation of handling and cross contamination. After making sure that there was no problem, we ordered some nachos and tacos. The result was very bad for my daughter, on the verge of taking her to the hospital. You cannot play with people's health and lives, allergies are very serious. I hope it doesn't happen to anyone else. It is reportable.
