I feel priviliged to write this review. I was visiting Bali for the first time with my partner and we decided to spend a few days at Uluwatu beach. We were returning from our day back to our cottage near Ulu garden and on our way we heard a melodius singing voice coming from Ulu Garden. We decided to go in, a singer was playing guitar and was singing beautifully. The ambience was so nice, we decided to sit. We were already so full from our dinner elsewhere so we were not hungry, we asked the server if we could just sit and enjoy the music without buying anything - the server said very nicely - 'No worries, you don't need to buy anything, please enjoy the music.' We were touched, it was such a beautiful gesture. We ended up sitting there for a couple of hours and we did get thirsty, so we ordered some tasty mocktails.
I was fairly impressed. The next night was going to be our last night in Bali and I wanted to surprise my partner. So I reached out to Ulu Garden the next day to see if they could set up a table for a candle light dinner that night. Intially they said they haven't done anything like this before so they weren't sure if they could do it. But when we talked more, they said they can try. I sent them a photo of how I wanted the table to be set up and decorated and told them a budget that suited me. They did go out of their way to buy some items and set up the table beautifully. When I reached there with my partner, he was quite pleasantly surprised and we were catered to very well. We ended spending a couple of hours there with live music, great food and excellent hospitality. Our server gave us privacy to spend time with each other, was courteous and had a big smile on his face throughout. I did thank them then, I want to thank the team at Ulu Garden again for making our night so special and for being so kind and compassionate. Me and my partner will remember that night forever. :)

Read moreDinner at Ulu Garden was honestly next level divine, hands down my favourite meal in Uluwatu.
We started with the Vegetables lumpia and Martabak moringa. Both were fresh and punchy, with vibrant sambals and that spiced coconut and ginger balance that really stood out.
For mains we had the Lemony tuna and the Roasted chicken. The tuna was beautifully cooked and lifted by green papaya that gave a bright, almost pickled-cabbage kind of tang, with roasted sweet potato, baby corn, and a creamy kemangi sauce. The chicken was juicy and full of flavour, served with urapan moringa, yellow rice, and sambal hijau. The sauces were to die for. It felt like the perfect way to experience elevated Indonesian food, authentic flavours but refined and creative.
We finished with two traditional Balinese desserts, the Dadar gulung (pandan crepes with coconut and palm sugar) and the Klepon bath (soft pandan coconut balls that burst with sweet coconut inside). The klepon were out of this world, like tropical mochi, and absolutely addictive.
The service was just as good as the food. Our waiter, Dika, was wonderful, confident in helping us choose, warm in his approach, and made the whole experience seamless. The meal was faultless from start to finish.
The setting tied it all together. Even with rain, the lush garden felt magical. A live band played, there was cultural dancing, and the artwork inside, especially the bold tiger mural, added so much character. Warm, atmospheric, and just a joy to be in.
If you’re looking for something beyond the usual warung fare, Ulu Garden is a must. Elevated Indonesian flavours, unforgettable atmosphere, and service that makes you feel truly...
