We were absolutely thrilled to discover this place while taking a shortcut back to our villa - away from the busy main street in Seminyak.
The first round of cocktails were where the great impressions started, their caprinhas were delicious and they were generous with the alcohol! The entrees from the western menu were awesome (delicious calamari) and the spring rolls were fresh and delicious. We opted for the local menu for dinner, gratefully accepting Wayan's recommendation for the seafood nasi goreng and the chicken curry. These were both fresh, flavoursome and cooked to perfection. The chef personally enquired how we found the food and it's clear to see his pride he takes in making people happy.
Wayan made us feel like part of the family and I can but recommend this place highly enough. It's so refreshing to stumble across a place like this without being coerced off the street and to be made to feel so well looked after. These people are genuine an deserve the support and great reviews I have seen here. The menu is very competitively priced and you can pay a lot more for less quality in other places around Seminyak!!!
Kindest regards and hopes for prosperity from...
Read moreLocation: Off the main street, away from the traffic and crowd. Tucked away in a quiet alley not a lot of foot traffic.
Atmosphere: Very cabin like (hence the name The Cabin. Really love the vibe, the decor and the ambience. Very relax.
Food: We ordered the Seafood Platter and the highly recommended Chicken Cordon Bleu. The Seafood Platter is a big plate for someone hungry. Shrimp, Calamari, Tuna and mahi mahi. All fresh catch (not frozen according to the owner) It was good, but it's not amazing. It didnt stand out. However the Chicken Cordon Bleu was EXCELLENT! Chicken was perfectly cooked, seasoned well and very moist, juicy. The cheese is not over powering the chicken. I highly recommend the Chicken Cordon Bleu. But meals came out hot. Also ordered the Chicken Spring Rolls for appetizers but its was below expectations, very greasy. That's why I'm taking 1 star off.
Staff: Outstanding! The owners (husband and wife - I assumed) was very welcoming and friendly. They really stand behind their food. Taste, Freshness and Quality is outstanding. They came out and asked how was the food and told us if not satisfied, you dont pay.
Highly Recommended. Hope to...
Read moreDamn good place for delicious food serviced with a smile by the incredibly friendly staff. Owned by one of the only pro-sponsored female surfers in Bali, this shack is themed with a ton of cool surf stuff including the many trophies she's collected over the years. This gives you the impression of a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, taken further by the great attitudes of the staff inside.
Coffee is delectable, more of a Balinese style blend but produced from a proper coffee machine. Food is varied, standard local fare mixed in with western staples give you plenty of choice. Brekky was an option too although not tried by us. However if it's anything like the dinner food it's well worth a look.
The chef touts the Cordon Bleu as being the best in Bali, something I would find genuinely difficult to rebut after trying it. The tender chicken is coated in a homemade crumb, with the gooiest and most flavoursome cheese and ham combo in the middle. Drizzled over the top is a luxurious creamy garlic sauce, sprinkled with a fine mix of softly sauteed vegetables culminating in what I'd say is definitely the best in Bali. Would definitely recommend if you're in the...
