Place was recommended by Bali Bogans FB page. When we placed our booking via Whatsapp, we were told last orders at 9pm. We arrived for our booking at 7pm, waited about 10 minutes to be seated which was strange as there was no line and lots of servers available but no one making eye contact at all. We were seated at our table with no menus. Waited 15 mins for menus before we asked for some. Ordered one entree, one pasta and one pizza only for the server to come back and be told there was no pizzas available tonight (strange as last orders were at 9pm). Ordered meatballs instead. Waited 40 mins for our bruschetta. 10 mins later, manager (Matteo) came over and said our mains would be "a little while", when asked how long he said he didn't know and would check. He never came back, so my husband called him back over and asked if there was anything he could do at this point, he brought over 2 limencellos and said "here is the beginning of my excuses, this is the start and I will bring something more". 15 mins later... still waiting... we called him back over and said how much longer and could we have a glass of wine to make up for the long wait, he said of course. Wine was brought over, finally mains arrived. Meatballs on top of bread (which was soggy from the sauce sitting on top of it) and carbonara (was actually decent for bali standards). We asked about tiramsu for dessert and the manager said he will check if there is any left. He never came back. 20 minutes later as we were finishing our drinks the tiramisu arrived (flavour was ok, but too soggy).
We asked for the bill, surprise surprise, that was brought over straight away! We queried whether considering the 20 minute wait and no communication if they even had any left, the tiramsu could be taken off to be told by the manager that he thought a 20 minute wait was ok to make a dessert and they were very busy (there was 4 other tables in the restaurant at this point). I stated the dessert is not made, its a slice of tiramsu that is pre made (after he walked away to double check the ticket to check we had actually waited 20 minutes...we had). After some arguing back and forth with the manager he stated he had already "offered" us wine - he didnt, we had to ask for it. We explained we waited to be sat, waited for menus, couldn't order a pizza, waited 40 mins for entrees, waited 30 mins for mains and waited 20 minutes for dessert. We had no service at all to our table, no one checked how our meals were going, no one offered to get more drinks once ours were empty, zero service at all. We queried the compulsory service charge (part of Indo law) more on principle of the fact that we are paying a compulsory service charge but with no service!!!! I said don't worry, I will just leave a review to which Matteo the manager said "you can also take a photo of the bill" - very antagonistic.
Absolutely would not recommend to anyone. The table next to us also put in a complaint. Another table near us also had trouble getting a waiters attention and had to approach the till (where the lady was standing on her phone with her back to the restaurant). Much nicer service and meals available elsewhere in Seminyak. The staff could do with some training in customer service as well - extremely unusual service standards considering how friendly the rest...
Read moreOh my my, Casa Blanca Restaurant was an absolute gem! It’s undoubtedly one of the best dining experiences I've had in Bali, and I would even rank it among the finest authentic Italian restaurants I've visited outside of Italy.
First, a huge thank you to Matteo, the general manager, who is truly an Italian gentleman. He went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience—constantly checking in to see if everything was alright and if we needed anything. His hospitality made us feel incredibly welcomed!
Now, let’s talk about the food—it was simply AMAZING! They offer a fantastic selection of dishes, with options for everyone, including vegetarian, seafood, and meat lovers. Every dish, from the starters to the desserts, was exquisite. You can genuinely taste the freshness and the homemade quality in every bite. Each dish was a delightful experience that left us craving more.
The only area where Casa Blanca could improve is the atmosphere. Despite the restaurant’s spaciousness, the seating area felt a bit limited, and the music and ambiance were somewhat lacking. It’s perfect for enjoying a fantastic dinner, perhaps with a mocktail or cocktail, but it doesn’t quite encourage lingering after the meal.
Nevertheless, we never felt unwelcome. The warmth of the staff and the delightful food made us feel right at home, eagerly awaiting each tasty dish. If you're looking for an authentic Italian experience with a diverse menu, Casa Blanca is a...
Read moreCasa Blanca is an absolute must visit during your trip to Bali, worth a drive from anywhere to make it in for dinner, exceptional staff so friendly kind and experienced, the food was to die for, I’ve worked as a chef in multiple Italian restaurants and by far the best Italian food I’ve eaten.
Must tries for me lamb ragu gnocci, light fluffy gnocchi and perfectly balanced ragu lamb soft tender and perfection.
-lasagna - melts in your mouth and will rival any Nona’s lasagna anywhere
-carbonara, this carbonara is as traditional and perfect as it comes, the sauce perfectly nullified and coated the noodles so rich and creamy seasoned perfectly.
To talk about drinks, we tried the limoncello spritz and fell in love instantly we loved it so much that we had to ask for a jug, they did allow us to do it even though it was a special request, we have tried to find a lemoncello spritz to rival it all over Bali and alas we cannot, the secret upon asking which lemoncello they use we found out that they make it in house, worth trying get the spritz do yourself a favour.
And if this hasn’t sold you yet the manager of the Front of house is a friendly man, he is so well versed in his Menu knowledge and brightens the room with his smile and energy, absolute professionalism we will be staying nearby this restaurant from now on, and tonight we are going back to sample more...
