This restaurant is the worst I've encountered during my three trips from Australia to Bali over the past few years. I am so appalled by the experience that I feel compelled to create an account just to warn other tourists about this place.
To begin with, we were seated for 15 minutes without anyone bringing us menus. Despite trying to get the attention of the staff, they seemed oblivious and I eventually had to approach them myself.
Once we finally received the menus and were ready to order, we faced another challenge: there were no staff members around, and attempts to signal them went unnoticed. It took another 15 minutes of hands in the air before we were able to place our order.
My piña colada (see photo) was 80% foam and 20% drink. The most frustrating part came when our food arrived: for over 20 minutes, despite asking four different times, we were not given any cutlery. We sat there helplessly staring at our food until we finally had enough, we stood up and told them we are leaving, it was at that point, they finally brought us our cutlery.
The food itself was disgusting, the word is not an exaggeration. Everything was lukewarm and clearly not freshly cooked—skewers, ribs, and fried rice all seemed pre-made or reheated, completely devoid of flavor and tenderness. The meat was so tough and dry, with the ribs being chunks of solidified fat that was hard to even chew.
This restaurant is by far the worst dining experience I've had in Bali. The service was practically non-existent, and while the waitress apologized at the end, there was no attempt to make up for the utter disappointment we experienced.
While 99% of the restaurants we visited in Bali were quite good, even the 1% we didn't like still offered decent service and food. I can't even include this place in that 1% because it is so inferior even to the worst place. This establishment is a disgrace to Bali's hospitality industry and tarnishes its reputation.
Don't trust their good reviews; many appear to be from fake accounts. A quick look at their profiles reveals their lack of...
Read moreEmbarking on the Balinese food cooking in Warung Nia class was an absolute delight! It was more than just learning to cook; it was a journey into the heart of Bali's rich culture and flavors. From the moment I stepped into the class, I was immersed in a world of vibrant spices, exotic aromas, and a warm, inviting atmosphere.
The knowledge and skills I gained during this culinary adventure were beyond my expectations. The chef's guidance and expertise and joke on time made every step of the process enjoyable and educational and with taste😈🧑🍳😋. From mastering traditional techniques to understanding the significance of each ingredient, it was an eye-opening experience.
The highlight for me was of course teaching cooking, eating it and visiting the local market, a treasure trove of fresh and authentic ingredients. Exploring the market and learning about the produce that gives Balinese cuisine its unique taste was truly captivating.
Once we began the cooking session, the magic truly unfolded. It was incredible to witness the transformation of simple ingredients into delectable Balinese dishes. The hands-on experience, the sizzle of the pans, and the aroma filling the air made every moment an absolute joy.
It was international course with 3 tables full of people: Russia, Germany, Australia, China, France, UK, USA on one friendly atmosphere table! We become friends in the finish and share the contacts and all emotions! It’s so valuable!
Overall, this culinary journey was not just about learning recipes; it was a cultural immersion that left me inspired and eager to recreate these flavors at home. I'm incredibly grateful for this enriching experience and the opportunity to delve into the world of Balinese cuisine!

Read moreThis is by far one of the best restaurants/warungs in the Seminyak area. We came here last year and had such a amazing meal, we came back again this year. It is ALWAYS busy. And the food is spectacular, just like the service. Last year, we had the pork satay and ribs and the prawns curry platter. The ribs fell off the bone, the sauce was sweet and flavourful and the meat was tender and smoky. The prawns curry was cooked to perfection and the sauce was so tasty, I ate it with a spoon when the rice was finished. This time, we had the pork ribs and pork satay again. They were consistently as good as last year. Fall off the bone tender, delicious, sticky and full of flavour. The satay was equally tender, flavourful and smoky. Whatever they're doing in that kitchen, they're doing it well! We also had the seafood nasi goreng which was a great compliment to all the meat, two full sized grilled large corn on the cob. They glistened with greatness and were the bonus side dish we never expected. 😋😋😋 Then I had the fried duck. Oooohhhhh. The fried duck. Crispy, yet fatty skin with moist meaty tenderness that feel off the bone. Even some of the bone was edible. It had been fried that well. And it came with two bonus chicken satay skewers. And the homemade sambal sauces. There was so much excitement at every part of the meal, we have decided to come back here at least once more on this particular trip. Oh and the dessert!!!!! The balinese pancakes. Moist, sweet, juicy, chewy goodness. The perfect sweet to end the meal. I doubt we will find another meal as good as the one we had today. This is another MUST EAT spot in Seminyak! You're...
