Following an immigration run my wife wanted to meet up with her cousin from Legian, we needed a place that would allow us to bring our puppy - Dear Lucy Bali was it! Excellent place to try. Highly recommend! ... but read the review to understand why.
This isn't what I'd call trendy, but it is fashionable. The food is good, the atmosphere very relaxed and most important it feels welcoming. ... and again the food is good! We had a good smear of their menu and we enjoyed trying one another's dish.
They've got a great menu and it is one of the few places in the world that has actual keto dishes on the menu! ... granted we didn't try any of the keto dishes but that gives us reason to come back!
As an appetizer we ordered the fries and jalapeno dip - not hot or spicy, rather flavorful; and the spring rolls w/ Nuoc Chan dripping. Chinese fried rice, Bakmie Ayam, creamy carbonara and a truffle garden salad. The plates were empty despite my son's connoisseur pickiness when it comes to rice - his plate was empty as well. The only plate not completely devoured was the Bakmie Ayam, our youngest reached his limit on the healthy portion of noodles - my wife and I were happy to finish for him.
"If" I had a compliant it would be the plates didn't refill themselves. Seriously, this is a healthy place to eat and that is where its value lies. Don't expect piggy cheap food, rather good food - good for...
Read moreMy visit to Dear Lucy Cafe was primarily driven by my need to caffeinate after lunch at Nasi Pedas Ibu Andika. I didn't pay attention to their menu and promptly ordered an Iced Black upon arrival. However, I couldn't spot any pastries or other food/snack options in their showcase. I wasn't sure if they solely served coffee or if they weren't offering any food options at the moment. Despite this, the coffee shop struck the right chord with me. I particularly loved the ambiance; it felt cozy even though the seating wasn't plush sofas. From the always-closed entrance door to their Pantone displays and standout yellow La Marzocco coffee machine, everything just clicked for me. I found serenity in this small coffee shop! PS: They're currently only serving in the front area. I'm unsure if they'll open the interior in the future, but honestly, I don't mind—I just adore this place. And the coffee?...
Read moreThis place is adorable. We tried the Sambal Matah Chicken with rice and Baked Garlic Butter rice with pork. I love the Sambal Matah Chicken, the taste is quite different from other cafés. I love that they put a lot of shallots on it but it's not oily as others. The portion is quite small though so if you're really hungry then you might want to order something else. The Baked Garlic Butter rice is delicious too but it tastes more like pizza then garlic butter rice. I also love the mushroom soup as it tastes really good. The Crispy Chicken Skin is also delicious as it's not too salty. The Spring Rolls however is just mediocre. But I would definitely come back again and for those who love to take pictures, this place is...
