Kwetiau (as they call it) or fried rice noodles with sautéed beef was the most vile thing I ever ate in a restaurant. Soggy braised noodles in some sort of MSG laden broth with thick chewy beef??? Too thick to even have any resemblance to Chinese styled food. The eggs which normally need to be stirred in the gravy to give the sauce silky consistency were scrambled and almost burned . The shame is even bigger as beef Hor fun ( I assume they were trying to emulate it) is one of my favourite dishes. To be fair to the management and staff, they have made no issues when I made the complaint and did not even attempt to charge me for it. Only because of this I have decided to give them a second chance and went what should’ve been a safe bet, a mixed platter of Cantonese roast meets and plain rice. Unfortunately, only the roast duck could pass for the real thing, the rest was simply too dry as a result of staying too long unsold in a warming cabinet. It takes some doing to make pork belly that dry. It was a Friday night on public holiday and throughout my stay there I was the only person there served by 4 waiters which may explain why the meat was so dry. Obviously...
Read more*Food tastes OK. Had to wait 15mins (the waiter already told me beforehand so it's OK) for a portion of steamed beef meatballs
*Service: Problem is, I wanted to order smth else (tofu skin), there are fillings inside it, but when I asked what's in it, the waiter couldn't really reply, and I told her to ask and get back to me. She never came back for that. So I only ordered one menu for myself(i was gonna order 2 menu at the very least)
Cashier was rude and didn't even realize I was in front of the cashier up until I called her. No smile and no intention of serving anyone.
*Atmosphere: The restaurant itself was good. However... One of the toilet had faulty lock, toilet seems dirty and kinda dim. I went to both the toilets on the first floor, obviously, at different times. The left one is better. They also put the tissue roll in the wrong side (makes it hard to take) The liquid soap was mixed with so much water, I mean, you don't even sell cheap food lol why are you being so cheap...
Read moreCome for the food ,not the atmosphere of service . This is so far the best Chinese restaurant in Bali I've been to this far , far Better than many others that are more expensive . So don't expect fine dining but the food is tasty. It's not in the best location but worth the trek . Some recommendations are : sweet and sour chicken , soft shelled cream , mapo tofu, BBQ pork fried rice and the hot and sour soup. If you want Chinese food skip Canggu and head here . The best point I can give is my friend who runs a Chinese restaurant which I will not name told me to go here when I asked him for a good Chinese food . I forgot to take pictures since I was so busy eating but I'll pay some next time...
