Lai Lai Chinese Food — Restaurant in Kuta

Yum Yum Yum! Solid Chinese food place for sure! We have been going to Lai Lai since the start of the pandemic and the food has always been consistent whether ordered through grab or dine in!

We always order their Hainanese Chicken Rice because it is just so tasty! The skin is still crispy and the chicken is always tender. It is also served with rice and soup over a bed of cucumber. All super nice!

To pair with our Chicken, we always order their stir fried Kai Lan because it is perfect with the chicken. We also get the bakso soup because it comes with noodles in side as well!

It’s for sure a solid location for tasty food along sunset. The seating is pretty limited and you could easily pass this place because it is quite small so slow down!

I love this place! Besides halal (kosher), it really have a strong taste. I ordered hainam chicken rice with egg. The rice was cooked thoroughly with the right ingredients, looks shiny, brownish and the correct level of stickiness and strong aroma of ginger, the chicken itself was marinated thoroughly seeping to the meat. The small drawback was the accompanying broth, it lacked the kick that should harmonise it's counterparts. Lai lai fried chicken was something surprisingly nice, cooked like some sort of fritters, but the ingredients has a tinge of belacan/terasi (shrimp paste) without being overly heavy. I've never written reviews for restaurants, but I feel encouraged to do so in this case. It's possible that this will end up being my favorite restaurant and a spot I'll return to if I travel to Bali again. I shall rate the components of this restaurant without further ado:
