Bali Nikmat — Restaurant in Kuta

Revisited Jan 7, 23. Services improved and still the best tasting salted egg softshell crab and other dishes here. Lunch with oldies Theresa Teng song. Feels like going back in time. Bali Nikmat still server best tasting Chinese food at Kuta area until now. But my recent experience is not pleasant. I visited June 25, 16:36. Table 19. Struk no : 10067190.

I asked the waitress small portion of Yang chow fried rice is for how many people, she said impolitely like unpleasant : for 1 people. (Small portion of fried rice only for 1 people ? Why don't you just put it a personal menu and not in family menu). I order 4 ice tea, and after waiting awhile, we got only 1 ice tea. I waited 10 minute I thought there were busy, but it's true, we got only 1 ice tea for 4 people. And only after I asked again for 3 more ice tea, then the rest 3 ice tea served. I order Salted fish fried rice. But they serve Yang Chou fried rice. Me and my wife very sure we order Salted fish fried rice. And not only that. They did not give us any bowl to eat big portion fried rice sitting in the middle of table. Only after I am upset asked for the manager and complain then the bowl delivered to us. The restaurant is not crowded and it is 3 PM.

I don't know how you train your staff here, but my experience here today is very unpleasant. Usually Balinese give best services and polite, but not this one.

The quality of the food, service and cleanliness deteriorating as time goes on. We visited the resturant for the first time 16 yrs ago and everything back then was really good. My parents' house about 10 mins driving from them so naturally when my family come for a visit from North America we go to the restaurant at least twice during our vacation.

The last visit before pandemic was 2017 and we already felt the whole experience was not as good. We thought this year we should give another try and I wish we didn't go. Before we sat I already could smell bad odor came from the table as if they cleaned the table with dirty old rag. The server tried to wipe it again but the smell was still there. As we ordered our food the server was comfortably telling us that we ordered enough when we actually only ordered 5 things for 8 people. As we settled the bill another server took care of it and she wasn't friendly at all. I guess it's time to let go and move...

I live 45min-1 hours drive from Bali Nikmat, that means... it's good! I have had so many positives experiences with Bali Nikmat, the staff are friendly and professional, they are all so attentive, they are always observing the restaurant not just standing around laughing playing on their phones, nothing like that happens at this restaurant. Even calling and ordering takeaway food over the phone is super professional and fast. The staff will also take note of any dietary requirements that you may request for your food and the kitchen will happily follow. I'm vegetarian so only experienced their tofu dishes and vegetables though the standard of the food is without doubt all good, a friend of mine has had their Chinese fried chicken and loved it.
