I'm torn about this place.
I've been a few times recently. The food is fantastic. Beyond good. Their Indian options are amazing and incredible value for money. So, so, so delicious.
Unfortunately there's only one guy (the husband, I presume) cooking, and I presume his wife taking orders. If there's just one table with two people ahead of you, you'll have to wait while he cooks them french fries, then her nasi gorang, then his nasi gorang. Finally your meal gets made. By then 25 minutes might have passed.
Or you go there and it's closed. Or it's officially within opening times but they're "still setting up". Mid-afternoon the chairs are all pushed against the wall with tables in front -- almost like they're not expecting customers. You have to move them yourself to sit down. It feels....disorganised. Like the business has only been open for a week; except that it hasn't, judging by the other reviews.
It's a nice shop too, but one gets the feeling the business needs an efficient businessperson to streamline everything and make it more efficient. Gee, they sure know how to cook and serve good food though.
Again, the food is next-level good. And worth the wait...depending on how hungry you are. Be prepared to wait though, even if it looks...
Read moreOrdered iced tea, mango lassi, veggie samosa, boondhi raita, palak paneer, butter naan, and jeera rice. The pricing was fantastic and the food was delicious, but there were some things I noticed that made me understand why the restaurant name is Indonesian and Indian food instead of Indian and Indonesian food. The mango lassi, while delicious, was a bit thicker than I’m used to. The boondhi raita had homemade boondhi but the yogurt had the consistency of milk and it was warm, I think from the freshly made boondhi. The jeera rice did not seem like it was basmati; it was too wet and the grains were a bit short, soft and not separated enough. The paneer in the palak paneer was seared and I’m used to paneer that’s been stewed in the palak, so the texture was a bit off. I usually order roti, but it wasn’t on the menu and there are no tandoori items either which makes think there’s no tandoor at this establishment. Again, good tasting food, but I will probably stick to their Indonesian offerings next...
Read moreOrdered vindaloo chicken and aloo bread. The chicken was fried, burnt and dry. You needed a microscope to see the potato in the aloo bread. Don't waste your time here.
Responding to the owners comments. I'm an auzzie touring Bali with my wife. I've owned a small business for over 40 years in australia. My complaint is legitimate. The racial comments you've made could been tested in court in australia. If this is the way you treat the genuine comments by your customers, then you need some anger management.
I try always to support local small businesses when I travel as I know how difficult it can be, especially when times are tough.
The curry I ate tasted ok. The chicken was fried, not boiled. You should be asking your staff about this not me.
I don't ever intend going back to your warung. After the racial slurs you made, I hope everyone can see you for your...
