The PaD Bar and Grill on Legian Street — Restaurant in Kuta

Went last night for dinner. Great atmosphere, good local band playing good music. It started off well, as the waitress was polite, gave us our menus and took off without saying a word. I got her attention again and ordered 2 beers. Nice and cold I must say and in stubby holders. When we were ready to order food she came over (she was polite, I must add) and took our orders. I ordered the PaD burger and the wife got the steak sandwich. The flavors of both meals were lacking seasoning and sauce and the fries were like they scraped the bottom of the deep fryer to get rid of the end bits. We tried them but couldn't eat them at all, worst fries ever!! The bun didn't hold up well on the burger, fell apart after 2 bites. We can handle that as we know nights differ but paying the bill was a different story. We got her attention to ask for the bill, which we received quite fast but after we reviewed the bill we attempted to pay but no one came back and seemed to ignore me at eye contact. I wanted to pay by card as we had emailed first to confirm this was accepted, and they said yes but after no one came to our table to get payment, we pulled out cash hoping they would see the cash and come over, but still no one came over and we couldn't get anyone's attention so we put the cash away and pulled the card back out, still nothing and it wasn't overly busy and there were plenty of staff. After that we put the card away and pulled the cash back out, after my wife standing and waving to get attention a guy came over, grabbed the money and folder and said something that we couldn't really hear as we were sitting right next to the band but I could only assume that he thought that we didn't want any change and went to the bar and sat there. We were going to tip (well indirectly we did anyway) but would have loved the option as we didn't hear from this guy again, not even a thanks. We couldn't be bothered so we just left. Not being rude to the place, but we wouldn't go back as many options in Legian, Kuta etc who don't assume it's their right to keep the change. I believe the only reason they didn't come for the card as they wanted...

The Pad has very good service and the staff are excellent. The food however is hit and miss and seems to depend if the owner is there or not. We always went to the Pad for breakfast but after 3 times of not getting what we ordered unfortunately won't be back. The manager was very kind and appologetic when we complained the banana pancakes were dry doughy and tasteless and deleted this bill the first time. The next day the eggs Benedictwe ordered had overcooked eggs and very little sauce also the sourdough toast as per the advertised menu was not sourdough but instead the gross sugar local square bread that I couldnt finish. The staff did apologise and were very nice. This is however beside the point, you should get what you ordered not what you didn't. May seem a first world problem but if you want to maintain a good reputation it is essential to at least not treat the customers like that and they should just accept what is given. I know the manager won't appreciate the staff doing this to customers so I hope he can look into to this and ensure the Pad goes back to being a great food destination that normally does the food perfectly. I have recommended the Pad to others so hopefully they get their act...

Stayed in bali for a week and I came here 4 times it’s that good.

The prices of the meals and drinks are the cheapest in Kuta, the food is outrageously good

The staff are amazing, every time we went there we had two young beautiful ladies serving us putri and rina, their customer service is fantastic and are always happy to assist you when needed and love to have a quick chat with you when it’s not so busy which is great, they’re the most down-to-earth, generous and respectful staff

The food is great aswell, the whole time I was there I was on the hunt for a great Aussie like burger and this place had it, all the food there is amazing

The entertainment is fantastic, from footy nights to performances there’s always something happening every night and I would recommend checking it all out

Easily a 5 star review for me, I didn’t have a single bad experience and when I’m in bali again I know exactly where I’d be
